Also, you're reading too much into Trump's dust-up with McCain. McCain may be a war hero, but he's also a self-interested little political weasel. And he's clearly demonstrated it over the past months. I see no reason to think Trump is using the Anthem issue as a con---just the opposite, I think Trump is legitimately patriotic. That he saw another winning issue with the Anthem doesn't take away from his patriotism.

And Trump absolutely isn't conning on the economy. Or put it this way, if we get to consistent +3 GDP I don't care if Trump was conning about it or not lol.

Where did I claim Trump is "losing"? On the contrary, I think he's an incredibly successful con man. Arguably the most successful con man in history.

And no - I'm not reading too much into the McCain thing. He said he likes the ones who "weren't captured." I swear, if there isn't more offense to the military - and specifically those brave veterans who endured imprisonment - in that one line than there is in a million athletes kneeling for an anthem. It's such a double-standard, and a blind spot for his supporters.

Trump hasn't fulfilled on any of his economic promises. There were going to be "big deals" left & right; so much on day 1 of his Presidency. Trump doesn't care about people.

See, you're basing your analysis on one incident. If you want to convince people Trump is a sham patriot you need to do better than one isolated incident.

Trump has been in the public spotlight for decades. If he wasn't patriotic it shouldn't be hard to find evidence of it.

We'll be waiting.

Trump hasn't care about anything aside from Trump for decades. That's who he is. What are you looking for? Him burning the flag or something? Of course there is nothing blatant like that - I just don't believe a word he says, and neither should you.

The anthem issue was completely fizzling out. There were a few players here & there, but no one was covering it anymore, and it was essentially dead. Until Trump spotted an opportunity - to divide, and divert.

Trump truly and firmly believes that he's a king, and that is the reason he's frustrated. Reality slaps him in the face (he's not a king). He doesn't believe in the Constitution or the separations of power that the Founders envisioned. He's the most anti-American (certainly post-WW2-American) president ever to occupy the position.
