Sandy was a super storm, and it did a lot of damage. I'm sure it also caused major job losses, followed by a bump in construction. Same could be said for the BP oil spill, sans the construction bump after.

This particular loss of jobs is related to the two major hurricanes that hit one week apart. I don't recall such an event in recent history, but we tend to forget the disasters that don't hit our regions.

Nobody pays marginal rates. What isn't brain surgery, is that the proposed tax plan gives $60 to the lower brackets, $1000 to the middle class, and billions to the wealthy. That won't create one job.

The goal is filing a tax return on a postcard for most Americans. No need to even use a turbo tax.

I would speculate that much of the jobs effect had to do with Harvey/Houston. Houston is a busy port plus it has a huge oil industry and Harvey all but shut it down for weeks.
