The law on the books at the at the time allowed them. The proposed legislation in 2010 makes them illegal. Your boys blocked that.

Since it's made of plastic, to begin with, it is very possible that a 3D program is already being worked on; but let's say the Congress does ban then, is the next focus point going to be high capacity magazines or the number of firearms that can be "legally" owned?

Then what; will it be ammo quantities, replaceable gun parts, etc?

There is already a 3D printer that can make an unregistered fully-automatic rifle.
