It's not up to Comey/Clapper/Brennan and the Obama leftovers to determine US/Russian relations.

Selective leaking ensures that crap like Clapper's non-classified assessment is written with few facts
(and even those are obscured by using classification dodge) and a lot of long winded opinion.

Basically the CIA/FBI etc. will simply not have an improvement to Russian relations.
Trump promised to improve those -that's a direct threat to Deep State.

Nunes reported to Trump on an issue [the illegal unmasking of his associates] that had nothing to do with the Russian investigation. But democrats used that as a justification to get Nunes out of the way of their McCarthy-ite witch hunt. It was bullshit.

Nunes is a congressman. If he issues a subpoena it carries the wait of congress.

What is the FBI hiding? Why don't they just comply with the subpoena? What legal justification do they have in ignoring a subpoena? Did the FBI pay Christopher Steele for the Dossier? Why would the FBI be paying foreign nationals for opposition research during a presidential campaign?

No wonder they don't want to comply.

The FBI doesn't get to pick and choose what they will turn over -they are subservient to Congress ( in theory)

Comey felt the need to spell out the Clintonian abuses of classified info over her private server because they were so egregious,and did violate the Gross Negligence section of the Espionage Act.

He didn't indict not because she didn't violate- but because he saw no "intent"

trump has severe conflicts of interest with respect to Russia. He cannot be part of any 'improved' relations with Russia. No improvement will occur, until Russian aggression in the region stops. This is nothing new

I do believe that the term 'Deep State' comes from Russian media/propaganda circles, and was carried here by the likes of anatta. Putin's #1 goal is to disrupt Western style democracies -- and by American citizens doubting the legitimacy of Western democracy (to the point of actually HUNGERING for a dictator to lead them) he has largely achieved his goal.
