Jerry Jones and the entire Cowboys team take the knee

Smart you don't defend Kaperdick's cop/pig socks and all the dead cops which stemmed from all of this hate. It's undeniable.

I'm in the winning position, as is America with Trump. :)

#MAGA #AmericaWinsAgain
You aren't winning, the socks were inappropriate, I still defend his right to protest, it is written into our Constitution. There is nothing about the flag or the anthem in our Constitution.

I hope our rights win and I hope that our government finds a way to serve justice for all.

I respect lives of people and their right more than I respect our flag and our anthem which are just symbols.

Employees must follow the contents and directives in contracts they sign with their employers. I know I have to, it's called an S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedure). If I don't sign it, I'm not hired. And, if I do sign it and don't fulfill it, I'll either get 1 warning (if I'm lucky) or canned. That's life .

Our constitution says our govt can't restrict freedom of speech but it doesn't say anything about private employers, schools etc

If you sign a contract, yes, you agree to give up certain rights to get a job, that is not in contention. You are free not to take the job.

I don't believe there was anything in Kaep's contract that restricted his protesting.

You don't have the right to 'protest' in a private business.

Don't be clueless. If I show up at work and decide to 'protest' something I don't wike, I can be shitcanned.

The ISIS-FL is not a government entity. These brainless losers are 'protesting' for criminal rights by shitting on the flag and country of those who support them.

I remember the evolution of this BULLSHIT "hands up don't shoot" and the cops killed afterwards.

This is residual of those lies and bullshit and I hope the NFL goes belly up. I hate the ISIS-FL with a passion for this idiocy.....

Ummmm No. The First Amendment does not apply to private business owners.

:palm:

That would make a great scene.

Trumpettes sitting with grumyp faces .. Believers in freedom and anti-Trump American linked arm in arm. :0) Great for football ..

.. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT RATINGS ARE UP, NOT DOWN AS THE LYING ASS ORANGE BITCH-OF-A-MAN CLAIMS. :rofl2:

A great scene, but they are not standing against institutional racism and police brutality of Blacks, so what's the point?

If they want to impress, they will kneel during the anthem.

NFL Commissioners and coaches do have SOP's (contracts) with pretty clear dictates. The problems have always arisen however when sometimes they "feel like" enforcing parts of it and sometimes they don't which naturally causes confusion and claims of preferential treatment, bias, harassment, etc. There are examples of some wanting to be more "individualistic" with the color of their cleats, wearing certain stickers on their helmets, etc. in the past. If there's no consistency, there's chaos. Some people here posted this over the last couple of days:

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...
...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses

The meme claims that page 62-63 of the "NFL rule book" dictates that during the national anthem, players must stand, face the flag, hold their helmet in their left hand and refrain from talking. The meme claims that failure to follow this policy can result in fines, suspensions or forfeiture of draft picks.

So, is it true?

Technically, yes. But it's not in the "NFL rule book."

While this language does not appear in the 2017 Official Playing Rules of the National Football League, which is available in its entirety online, it is a part of the game operations manual, which is distributed to all 32 teams, according to NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy.

Thats separate and if they do how come Kap hasn't been hired?
It was fear, I think bottom line is people don't want politics mixed with their sports, sports is a means of escape from life. It is where you can put aside differences politically to come together for the home team.

I think that changed when Trump interjected his opinion into the mix, the group had ostracized Kaep, they may have done it with the new protestors, but after Trump the situation changed.

We'll see what happens now.

New England is losing, may be the fans will come back!

curious..how good of a quarterback is he? do you think he's worth hiring?

at his peak he was very good. Today he's not and as such he's not worth the ultimate attention/distraction he would bring. Talent ultimately triumphs and if he were still playing at a high level teams would pick him up.

You're correct. It looks like it appears in the Game Operations Manual.

The NFL is well known for its tenacity in enforcing rules, particularly on the field of play, but Commissioner Roger Goodell is making an exception for players protesting the national anthem.

The NFL’s game operations manual specifically requires both teams to appear on the field for the national anthem, standing at attention and holding their helmets in their left hands while remaining quiet.

Failure to comply can result in fines, suspensions, and the loss of draft picks.

Yet, on Sunday entire teams hid in the locker room and face no disciplinary action.

“There will be no discipline handed down this week for anyone who was not there,” NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart told USA Today.

The spokesman described Sunday as “an important day for the league,” saying “the real effort here is to make progress in the community on issues of inequality, and to not get distracted by political attacks or things that don’t help us make progress.”

And we thought the “real effort” was to play football for the enjoyment of the paying customers.Snopes.com claims the rule doesn’t exist in the 2017 version of the Official Playing Rules of the National Football League, but the game operations manual is separate from the rule book, according to Grabien News.

Goodell was quick to react in 2016, threatening to fine players if they wore specially designed cleats to commemorate 9/11, which marked the opening day of the season — in the end, the players were not fined.

That same year, he would not allow the Dallas Cowboys to pay tribute to FIVE police officers assassinated by a black man who expressed sympathies toward Black Lives Matter.

He found a modicum of good in the Nazi movement, citing 'fine people' who were bearing torches. Why can't he find some 'fine people' when the colored people are protesting?

Show where he said there was "good in the Nazi movement" or that there were fine people bearing torches; because like most liberal snowflakes you seem to be just making shit up, AGAIN. :D
