At this point there are only three options available to the NFL

1) End playing the national anthem at all games - The left would applaud, but it would not go over well. In fact, I would argue that if that happened it not only would backfire on the NFL it would bleed into the 2018 elections as it would be blamed on the left and the democrat party

Stop taking millions in taxpayer money from the DOD. Then the league can go back to having players in the locker room during the anthem.

2) Enforce current rules which I have already posted - This effectively shuts down the bogus protests, but animates the BLM crowd and opens up the NFL to charges of being racist and looking like they are now on the side of Trump

Game rules say nothing about standing for the anthem

3) Do nothing and let the inmates run the asylum - Maybe it goes away, but I doubt it. It probably descends into a slow burn and they continue to lose fans.

At this point there is no way the NFL can win in any of this.

That's what people don't seem to get here - not just w/ Kaep's protest, but w/ BLM & everything else that has happened in the past few years. There is a real disconnect between the black community in the inner cities & much of the rest of America. This is not a "marginal" issue for them. When a law-abiding citizen gets targeted under "stop & frisk" over 100 times, there is a big effin' issue there. And that's why Kaep took the most public, high-profile & controversial stand that he could in his position.

Personally, I applaud him. He literally risked his career (because he essentially lost it), and for very unselfish reasons - because of what he saw going on in the black community. I hate hearing people say "just take your millions & shut up." Now, the latter is something that is antithesis to what America is about - not what Kaep did.

I'm not impressed with Kap. He started something, but chose not to follow through. Not only did he refuse to vote, he did nothing to affect change by encouraging black youth to vote.
