Jerry Jones and the entire Cowboys team take the knee

The Force is With Me
The Dallas Cowboys took a knee Monday prior to the national anthem, but stood for the performance with locked arms. The Arizona Cardinals did the same, joining a lengthy list of NFL athletes who protested in some form before Week 3 games after Donald Trump made divisive comments throughout the weekend.

Joining the Cowboys for the kneel prior to anthem — which drew boos from the Arizona crowd — were owner Jerry Jones and coach Jason Garrett.

so what did they demonstrate?......that they couldn't make up their minds what to do?......lol.....

I do not want to thank PMP but I agree.

Either you support racism or you don't.

There is no middle road.

Seems to me, these teams and coaches don't want to upset racist whites by actually taking a knee.

I'd rather have no support than fake support like these owners are giving.

Our overweight, blustering, popular vote losing, man child of a president seems to be shooting blanks, and his blustering has backfired.

For some reason, I think if you took a poll over which was more popular - the NFL, or Donald J. Drumpf - surprisingly I think it would be the NFL in a landslide!

Players have leverage .. owners know that .. some of whom couldn't bend on one knew if their life depended on it.

I disagree. I welcome owners locking arms with players while allowing other players to take the knee if they wanted to.

I welcome the unified response to Trump.

Never let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Owners standing with players is a very good thing.

I'm gonna add to the joy, BAC.

"Several players from the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars either knelt or locked arms on their respective sidelines in solidarity and against the words of President Trump during the national anthem at Wembley Stadium. Included among them was Jags owner Shahid Khan, who locked arms with tight end Mercedes Lewis and linebacker Telvin Smith in an unprecedented show of unity with his team.

Khan was one of seven owners to donate $1 million to President Donald Trump’s inauguration festivities."

I agree ... I think Kaepernick might be more popular than Trump.

Now you're going with anti Trump. How does that get back to police violence?

We can certainly agree to disagree.......we do it all the time:-)

In my opinion, they would all be on one knee like Colin started.

We already know a lot of these coaches support dump, that's why they won't take a knee. They will not, and can not, "disrespect" the American flag that is riddled with the blood of Blacks.......thus the reason for Colin's protest.

It begs the question, do they support Kapernick and his protest against institutional racism and brutality, or are they just pissed at dump because he said what they discuss behind closed doors?

I believe the latter.

The issues for which many professional athletes and their team owners, managers and coaches protest totally escape the rather juvenile intelligence of most of the rightwingnuts that tend to post on these message boards. But the individuals involved in the protests are making their points and support well known. So far it appears that only the prez, a few NASCAR nuts and a very few other very boring individuals are not making much headway in making their very anti-American views protesting the protests known. What is their point? Are they proud of the prez calling people son of a bitches? Class act, RIGHT?

And the investigations continue,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Bet you wanted to put a bullet through that Steelers player huh?

I heard that Harry Truman called people sons of bitches, too, but that's different, I guess. He was a DEMOCRAT who incinerated two Asian cities and their inhabitants with nuclear weapons, so not a rayciss.

You mean this guy? :0)

Steelers' Villanueva: I threw teammates 'under the bus' during national anthem
The Steelers offensive lineman was only on the field by accident during Sunday's national anthem

The image of Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva standing alone at Soldier Field during the national anthem on Sunday has become one of the most talked-about pictures in the country over the past 24 hours.*

As it turns out, the viral image almost never happened because the situation that led to Villanueva standing alone was actually an accident.*

Although Villanueva skipped out meeting with the media after the Steelers' 23-17 loss to the Bears, he did do an interview Monday during which he mentioned several times that it was his fault that the team looked divided during the national anthem. Villanueva said the reason he was on the field by himself is because a Bears employee carrying a flag got in his way.

Villanueva said he got caught in front of a person carrying a Bears flag, and by the time the flag had been moved, the national anthem had started, and at that point, he didn't think it was OK to move, which gave us the image below that shows the offensive lineman without his teammates.*

"Unfortunately, I threw (my teammates) under the bus, unintentionally," Villanueva said. "I made Coach Tomlin look bad, and that is my fault and my fault only. I made my teammates look bad, and that is my fault."

Bet you thought that was all patriotic and stuff, huh? :0)
