Century-old Francis Scott Key monument defaced with 'racist anthem' in Baltimore

Annatta's opinion is irrelevant.
We are now entering a phase of history when the hero worship of treasonous rebel generals is coming to an end. Incrementally, but one can literally sense the balance of history shifting away from Confederacy-worship and away from the emotional attachment to defending the slave economy.

I mean, really when you think about it, in 10 years Anntta will be saying he was always for getting rid of Confederate memorabilia on public property. It's kind of like how many Republicans are now belatedly claiming they were always against the Iraq War and always for Gay Marriage.

UNHINGED and TRIGGERED!!
:rofl2:

Amen to the bolded. Beyond true.

The question is bolded, since you somehow couldn't find it in your frenzied, rationalizing state.
yes I can see some angst in that case of course. History isn't black or white however-
it's always nuanced.

You should consider Lincoln offered Lee command - so if he was good enough for Lincoln..etc.

He fought as a nobel soldier, and lived a good life, and worked to rectify reconcilliation.
If people want to honor his deeds let them - the soldiers at Gettysburg shook hands at the various reunions afterwards.
The scars healed. Opening them up when the issue is settled, and history is just that is silly and needlessly painful
Most Americans support the statues. Damn the tyranny of the minority.

They should be looked at by various historical commissions to determine their worth.
Some are racists like the one's in Lexington out side a slave trading building that still stands.

Many more are pure honorarium

You're an idiot. Human slavery is one of the great evils in human history.

Once a soldier signed up for the Nazi cause in Germany, it didn't matter how nuanced they were, how "well rounded" they were, how nobly they fought. Know why? Because they fought to perpetuate evil.

Lee fought to preserve slavery. No one cares what other motivating factors there were for him - he made that decision & understood everything that it entailed. I don't know how you keep missing this.

So then - Since Native American tribes practiced slavery, there should be no memorials to them; because they were evil.

AND

New York city and State should be forced to rename themselves; because they were named after the Duke of York, who was a known slaver and therefore the names are evil?

Sure thing, USF. You really get what we're talking about here.

Gee; when you had the chance to either refute my comment or try and defend the slavery practiced by Native Americans, you did neither and instead just fell back on your tried and true "WHATEVER".

I love watching the sandy foundation that liberals try to build on, being destroyed. :D

Sorry - you'll have to show me the exact verbiage where I said taking up arms was the ONLY way to go against your country.

I'll wait. You won't find it - you don't read anything correctly.

Oh, one of those exact word people that doesn't believe something can be said without using the exact word? That way you can hide behind what you mean.

Coward troll.

Who is the idiot?

You keep ignoring the important point about that. Just like a Nazi - once you take up arms to defend a great evil, the rest doesn't really matter.

I weep for your lack of moral code & perspective.

See what you just did?

Anyone who advocates leaving the *historical* monuments is a Nazi lover. Way to shut down debate.

Why don't you go join Antifa or BLM and shut down some traffic.

Lee was a traitor to the nation that trained and schooled him, to whom he had sworn his allegiance ...
To honor a traitor is to honor treachery.

completely wrong. Look at the Nuremburg trials. How many ordinary German soldiers were on trial? Zero.
The Nuremberg trials were a series of trials held between 1945 and 1949 in which the Allies prosecuted German military leaders, political officials, industrialists, and financiers for crimes they had committed during World War II.
We quickly mended fences, and west Germany was rebuilt -
would we be doing this if EVERYONE THAT FOUGHT AS GERMANS WE EVIL??

Your sanctimonious bullshit betrays you yet again

No - that isn't what I did at all. Only from an incredibly dopey perspective.

But there is a direct parallel with "honoring" Nazis - both armies fought FOR great evils. Dispute that - you cannot.

What does "everyone that fought as Germans we evil" mean?
