I had a light quarrel with my father. He was pissed off, apparently, about the plastic bag issue in California and our resolution of that. He is in North Carolina. So after his animated disgust that we would encroach on his god gifted freedom to pollute, I asked him, what's it to him if California wants to clean its environment? What happened to state's rights? His only response was, as goes California, so goes the country? Well, that may be the case, but we don't force conservative states to adopt reusable bags or to pay a dime for a plastic bag. That's the power of a good idea at work.

So, it's always like that. It's usually a great idea, you don't have to follow suit if you choose not to do good, but the kicker is you guys go nutso over every small thing we do.

SeaWorld does a lot of offshore rescue of turtle and dolphins here in Florida.
The plastic bags literally kill these sea creatures .
they become entangled or swallow them and die. They are an ecological nightmare and need to be banned.
I carry a grocery sack to the store and an insulated bag. Or use paper. It's a no-brainer

They're a nightmare to manage in landfills too.
