Thomas Jefferson statue at U-Va. shrouded in black

liberals must feel like the most toddler like adults on the planet.

When you fight so hard to have something removed today that didn't bother you yesterday it simply means something pissed you off so much you had to lurch out at something to vent.
And you chose American History. Sad sad group you are, and no wonder you lose all the time.

Lack of consistent moral compass is a sign that your inner world has no grounding in dignity, or meaning.
Life is too short to act like that, but I guess when you just can't help it, own it.

They are just discovering that the founders had slaves, and their delicate snowflake sensibilities can't handle it. Just like when some of them passed out at the mere sight of a confederate flag, and needed to seek therapy.

No one who is educated is surprised that TJ owned slaves and had children from his raped slaves or that CC was a genocidal maniac in search of gold for Spain.
You are a moron if you think so.
At least TJ

You're the one shocked to learn that Columbus and Jefferson weren't angelic Christ-like individuals :palm: The rest of us have known this since grade school :palm:

Nah - that's dopey. Even academia talks about how Columbus used to be taught without the flaws & negative actions.

Sorry that you didn't know that. Pretty damned stupid, but I always forget that you guys don't really read.

What's dopey ... is your shock to learn he was not Christ-like. :palm:

Moral compass? From the guy who cheerleaded the Iraq War?

Spare me the lecture.

not trying to lecture, but if you want to debate this topic, there has to be at least an acknowledgment from your side that some sort of explanation as to why these statues suddenly bother you today when they didn't yesterday.
You and I both know there is no explanation other than Trump won and it's a way of venting your childish behavior being unable to handle the loss.
SO we can start there.

And remember you are the one that stated in another thread that the Iraqi WMD inspections were working :rofl2:.. so you're lucky I'm even conversing with you about anything.

They were - Hans Blix had access to every single suspected site as of March, 2003. Would have been a cheaper, easier way to find out what it took a 10-year war to conclude - that there were no WMD's.

I don't really care about the statues, but I have no problem at all w/ people expressing their opinion & wanting to see a more truthful & thorough accounting of historical figures. No one is going to forget about Robert E. Lee because his statue isn't there anymore - well, maybe some righties, because you guys generally don't read books.

stop saying that, trust me any one with any knowledge on th subject is laughing at you, and out loud.

That's just absurd

It's historical fact. But you guys have completely re-written the history of Iraq in your heads.

I get it. I can only imagine how tough it is to deal w/ the truth. Do whatever you have to do ...

It isn't revisionism when it is true. A genius and great human with human flaws all too common in his age. You can lionize Jefferson and his achievements without the truth that he owned slaves and begot children from slave women and while married if you wish. That does not make the truth revisionism. Go back to the 1950s. That's your warm cozy.
What a crock of shit.

You think the stunted perverts that shrouded that statue don't have flaws? Jefferson was better than you, and he was better than any other piece of shit that supports this lunatic cause. He did more for this country than all of you degenerates, combined. It's not even a discussion.

Go back to the 1950's? Yes, please. hell yes! ;)

He wants you to believe that Americana farm church schools with dirt floors in the 30s and a teacher who doubles as the church pianist had avant garde ed.

It's a damn shame UVa is a lightening rod for activists from both sides. It's a fine university that was founded by Jefferson.
Heck if a university of that caliber was founded by Robt. E. Lee then his statue should remain.

we knew historical revisionism wouldn't stop with Confederate statues. Now Thomas Jefferson is to be reviled..
Columbus is of course a "racist"..Welcome to America's version of the Maoist Cultural Revolution

It's not revisionism to affirm America's victory in the Civil War.
