how is being born on american soil, thus making one a citizen, a reward from an illegal act. it's a simple set of circumstances. Now the parents getting something for that, that would be a reward.

It's rewarding the child when the only reason they're here is due to a crime. Are you OK with rewarding children for the crimes their parents commit?
 
I don't consider allowing these people to remain in the only country they have ever known to be a "reward". Obviously, the majority of Americans agree.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 4 unless you're going to claim that naturalization has nothing to do with citizenship.

this is about perceptions, but then you're lousy at that as we already know. See, here in this country there is a theory of law we work on that the stigma of criminal activity isn't handed down from parent to child. being born to illegal parents isn't a crime of the child, so it's not a reward, it just is what it is. A new American Citizen.

Since the laws of the country state that what they are classified as means they shouldn't be here, it's a reward for letting them stay.
