This has been the underlying drive for the left for a few decades now. There entire ideology is built on emotion over logic, so everyone who disagrees with them must be evil and all slights must be equated with genocide. This is why they are moving towards classifying "hate speech" as violence. Once they have convinced their followers that mean words are violence they can justify the instinctive desire to use violence against those you feel threatened by, and to set out to confront their ideological adversaries with violence from the start.

This movement to condone violence for political ends is often a precursor to attempted authoritarian coups.

Antifa is no different than the KKK of old. They are the military arm of the democrat party. They are fighting to maintain power they can't win at the ballot box.

There is a far or progressive left which I don't always agree with and there is the Antifa which is admittedly a militant arm of the far left which promotes self defense via fighting violence with violence, but that is far from unreasonable.

The ones who stoke and provoke the violence to begin with, are the alt right.

The only alt group there is.

The use of "alt left" is just another typical right-wing Geobbels style propaganda tactic.
