Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s ties to late Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, who admitted to creating a Ku Klux Klan chapter before entering public service, resurfaced Friday as Republican President Donald Trump deals with the fallout from his comments and stances on the Charlottesville, Virginia, protest.

Actor James Woods, a well-known supporter of Trump’s, tweeted a picture Friday of Byrd wearing a Klan outfit—which appeared to be fake—next to a picture of Byrd and Clinton exchanging a kiss back in July 2004.

“This man was a real leader of the #KuKluxKlan. He was Hillary Clinton's mentor. His name is Robert Byrd. #Byrd,” Woods tweeted

That photo of Byrd is photoshopped. As far as I know, he was a reformed Klan member. Unlike most Trump supporters, he renounced racism.

I admire a reformed racist who has committed no crimes. I believe in redemption and in human comeback stories.

You should watch American History X. Good movie. It tells the tale of a skinhead who murders a black man, goes to prison, befriends a black man, and realizes that everything he's been taught by racists is bullshit.

I don't know, but Hillary met the man in his later years, and I am pretty sure one can respect the person he has become. Just as we shouldn't hold our past history against us because we have come far, we should acknowledge that people change as well.

When a society finds it has a group of people who have NO COMMITMENT to FACTS or SET MORALS it is incombant on that society to publically shame this group of liars until they accept FACTS or shut the fuck up.
