Assuming you were a Klansman, would you go to a rally armed with anything less than a stick? I wouldn't. Not sure why people can't see this. Antifa tore Berkeley up over ann Coulter[!]. Klansmen have TV's and smart phones.

The goal was to keep the statues right? How do you think most people view armed klansmen and nazi's?

Is it surprising at all that there is now a rush to take down even more statues?

I thought it was just one statue that was being taken down, not 8,000, but I'm not sure.

I was talking about the statue. If your goal was to keep the statues standing would you want the Klan and Nazi's being the front men for you?

I live in SF so my connection to these statues if different from people who live there. But for me, if I wanted the statues to remain, I would not have the Klan and Nazi's marching in support of them.

I think the way this probably works in practice is people would show up advocating for either side of the statue issue.

Even in Charlottesville there was a minority engaged in violence, based on the video evidence. Most people were there watching and/or getting some video to put up on social media. And these were 'the good people on both sides' Trump was referring to.

It's kind of simplistic to take a black and white approach and say 'well, everyone there was either a Nazi, supported them, or they were The Good Guys. That's the media's brain-dead narrative.

And based on the video evidence, there's no justification to draw that inference.

We view this from two very different perspectives, to each his own.

The narrative we have out here is the KKK and Nazi's marched, while armed, to protest removal of confederate statues. And Nazi's were chanting anti-Jewish statements etc.

That would not pass the Dale Carnegie 'How To Win Friends And Influence People' class.
