We don't want the proof to come in the form of a mushroom cloud.

We should preemptively attack, ground troops, shock and awe!
 
North Korea has a million man army, and has had close to seventy years to establish a defense against any kind of attack.

For us to attack as such would be an major endeavor and cost thousands of American military lives, North Korea ain't Iraq

We would snap their necks like carrots. This would be the kind of war we are prepared for. Do not want to see it, but it would not be much.

No. Iraq was a mistake. No one in their right mind can deny that. NK is completely different. They are threatening us. Repeatedly. And, if facts are correct ( as evidenced by actual missile launches) they have some capability to back up those threats.

Wrong, if North Korea even thinks it is under major attack it will respond, meaning launch everything they have toward South Korea, Japan, and any other US ally in the region.

Military action isn't really a response unless we are willing to accept the devastating lose of our allies in the Far East

Then there will be no problems. Lil Kim is acting like Hussein. Talking, talking, talking...then oh shit. Lil Kim says he will fire missiles at Guam by mid August. Could be all yapping. Hopefully. If not, and he does, no country can allow things like that against them.

Actually, you wouldn't do anything. You would wave a tiny American flag as thousands (possibly tens of thousands) died on both sides -- including the American soldiers stationed in Seoul who would be on the receiving end of North Korea's retaliation.

they do not yet have an ICB that can survive re-entry. DNI says they have done miniturization.

It won't be long before they can deploy
