To recap...the goal for the past few presidents is to get NK to end their nuke program. trump sent an armada to NK, and since then Lil Kim has been thumbing his nose at the U.S.

Are you lowering the bar for trump, as everyone has for his entire life? Is a de escalation of the trump aggression via an armada a 'win'? Or do you believe that NK is ever going to stop working on their nuke program? Because Libya pretty much put an end to that pipe dream. NK will never stop advancing their nuclear program.

Im confused. Can you plesae clear that up? PS it won't be cleared up by Obama's grudging refusal upon advice of his military to change the existing (and wholly ridiculous) no first use pledge.

No, they will never stop until they are stopped.

Nothing done to this point has worked so Trump has tried a more agressive approach. China, for example, hasn't felt this kind of pressure before. And they are the key player if you want a non-military solution.

And the only way to get China to budge is to get serious with NK. I think it makes perfect sense. The only other option is status quo diplomacy and even you agree that doesn't work.

No. I'm saying that trump confronted NK as his first order of business, and Lil Kim laughed at him.

Real world leaders know that he should be ignored. As has been outlined already in this thread....NK will have a nuke, and they'll feel important. Crazy or not, Kim isn't suicidal.

There is no diplomacy with NK..we agree. But the armada was an idiotic idea. China was an afterthought, but that's how trump's little mind works.
 
Many think the bigger risk is Pakistan and India lobbing nukes at each other. Moe parity, proximity and mutual antipathy.
