As democrats plan for 2018 and beyond, they would be wise to keep Sanders at distance

So dems are now moving to the center. They still haven't fought the in party civil war like Repubs did, so they are still struggling for a unifying message. Right now it is just, Not Trump. That hasn't worked very well yet in special elections. Hopefully the party will continue to move and give up on the useless SJW movement, and BLM movements.

These movements are scaring off moderates, and causing them to lose elections. Most Americans right or left, don't want to throw support behind a party that is anti-police/Military, and wants to censure language and keep people from using "microaggressions".

I think if the Dems ran a moderate centrist candidate they would have easily beaten Trump. I would have voted for Jim Webb for example, over Trump. Maccron found this in his victories in France.

Thanks, but you can't get much more centrist than Hillary Clinton ... unless you're talking about Bill Clinton.

Both may appear wildly progressive to you .. but not to those on the Left in this country.
 
Far be it for me to tell socialists how to think but isn't Bernie's style of socialism somewhat different than a tried and true hardcore socialist?

I agree we need to wipe the slate clean of the losers in the last election. I'm not sure midterms are an issue with Sanders. He's not on the menu here. Is he even up for reelection himself? He gets 6, right?

There are varying degrees of socialism good brother. I'm a democratic socialist, but I acknowledge other forms.

Socialism is an economic system, not a political one.

I suggest we put the heat on Sanders to 'mind his manners' AND reach out to issue-oriented progressives to re-energize the base. I suggest that rather be 'they' than 'who.'
 
All I know of Sander's foreign policy is he didn't vote for the Iraq War. That's all I remember his saying on the campaign trail. But I would guess almost all socialists support Palestine over Israel. Bernie may not be religious but I guess it could be possible being a Jew is enough of a turnoff from that regard.
