A pardon can not save anyone from impeachment.
Impeachment simply allows a sitting president to be indicted.
A pardon accepted is a tacit admission of guilt, so a pardon accepted from himself would actually be a guilty plea that could not be convicted.
Could a president that has admitted to criminal behavior and who plead guilty, in this manner, ever effectively govern?
Obviously not.
This is why Nixon accepted defeat and resigned allowing his VP to pardon him ...
The writing is on the wall that this is exactly what Trump will eventually do, after, of course, providing a presidential pardon to all of his family.
