No it's not. There are brilliant people in this country who disagree on many metrics of the debt. There is no number and many think debt to GDP is a stupid metric to use. You wouldn't know that of course because you don't read

$20 trillion of which nearly half was accumulated during the Obama presidency is going to bite you all on the arse sooner or later. I would suggest that it's only the fact that the dollar is a reserve currency that has prevented that from happening already.

How about you frame the question using understandable English? The US National Debt is running at over 106% of GDP, that is a huge amount only surpassed in WW2. As for the National Deficit, in other words the amount by which the government’s total budget outlays exceeds its total receipts for a fiscal year, that is projected to be 3.1% of GDP.

The EU has something called the Stability and Growth Pact, it dictates that national deficits be kept under 3% and debt below 60%. Using that as a criteria then the US fails on both counts.

the US is too big to fail. The shithole countries in europe can be cut off from borrowing without much consequence.
