It was written in response to a recent column by Eugene Robinson entitled "This country deserves much better than Trump".....

I read and listened to Gene this morning...."Do we, Gene?" was my first thought.
It would seem America deserves Trump......he represents so much of what America is and was.
1. This country was founded by white land owners. Many of which owned slaves. Others were smugglers, bootleggers.....fine individuals indeed. Gene, when they drafted the constitution, they would have only considered you 3/5 of a person. Additionally, women didn't even get the right to vote until 1920
2. As we took this country from the native inhabitants, we often slaughtered them, marched them west, infected with communicable disease..........its okay however, we gave them casinos to make it all right
3. We are the only country in the world to drop nuclear weapons on other humans
4. We have engaged in military adventurism for the last 50 years, playing topple the dictator to suit our agenda when necessary. At other times, supporting the dictator, when it suits our agenda.
5. We are a nation of consumers......as there is nothing we wont consume as long as its properly advertised, promoted and sold.
6. We idolize the rich and famous. We pretend like we dont, but we do. We tell ourselves money isnt everything, but we know it is untrue. We stand in awe of Buffet, Gates, Trump, celebrities, athletes, rock stars. We love glamours exotic beauties like Melania and Ivanka
7. We indulge in various forms of cosmetic "adjustments". We act like we really respect authenticity, but we dont. Fake plastic titties are good, right? Just a lil nip and a tuck.
8. We hate those "know it all" types and "deep thinkers" that try to address our short comings. We dont care for intellectuals, we dont like to be shown how ignorant we are.
9. We respect muscle, brute strength and power. Look no further than the NFL for the grandest exhibition of all these. We prefer war over peace (even though we say we dont). Look at our bloated defense department budget, our military adventurism.
10. Americans are a narcissistic bunch, again we pretend we are not, but we think we are the greatest country in the world, no, not just the world......the history of the world.
11. We have had presidents engage in illegal wars, resulting in the deaths of thousand/millions of innocent civilians as well as soldiers. We spread death and destruction around the globe.
12. We have a two party system which is intellectually, morally and practically bankrupt, that engages in drawing lines to suit their election agenda.
13. We cry about "health care" as our nation becomes fat and addicted to pills
So Gene, I don't know what you mean exactly.....
it would seem Trump is perfect for America. America is perfect for Trump.
