Video Games Keeping Young Men Out of the Workforce?

Japan has been going through this since the 90's. People who would withdraw from society, stay shut in, and watch anime and shit rather than working. Huge coincidence, that's when their economic stagnation started.

Again, it's not because people suddenly got lazy. It's a social phenomena. If people could work, they would.

My favorite anime is coincidentally about this subject:

this makes you sound like a conservative bitch. i've been out of work since thanksgiving last year. I job hunt every single day. I solicit through craigslist and next door drumming up any computer work I can. i've been turned away for people more 'qualified', and I could make an excuse of being 50 years old, but I don't. most of us aren't sitting here waiting, we are out actively looking every day.

Finding a job was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life and the worst period in life I've ever had. You have my sympathies.

Yes it is. If one wants to work, one will find work.

The shit was distinguished in the original post... Video games keeping YOUNG MEN out of the workforce.

Followed by "For men ages 21 to 30, hours worked fell by 12% between 2000 and 2015..."

Stop pretending it was my comment. You just wanted to hit out at a liberal.

You're committing a logical fallacy. Correlation /= causation. When young men have free time, they play games. That doesn't mean they are purposely staying out of work to play video games. If there were jobs, they probably would participate in the economy.

LOL, so it doesn't matter which economy or society you're born in, even if unemployment was literally 99%, you're just as likely to find a job and the conditions have nothing to do with it? Conservatives are such idiots. Depressions aren't caused by massive inexplicable outbreaks of laziness. Anyone who could think that is stupid beyond words and probably needs to be euthanized to improve the gene pool.

Really. There are and have been over 6 million unfulfilled jobs in this country. And that is just legal ones. Do not blame your laziness and inability to get your sorry ass out of bed or out from in front of your gaming on lack of jobs. It is lack of work ethic there sparky. Get some.

Why get a job, when you can just sit in your parents basement and play WoW. And bitch about Trump/GOP because you've become a beta cuck snowflake male.

Nice new sig.......... Which branch did you serve in?? The Nintendo brigade??

There are over 6 million employers with unrealistic requirements rejecting every applicant who comes to them.

Yeah, if you like interior graphics, less sophisticated writing, etc., then, I can see the joy of PC games. I bet you enjoyed the hell out of Mist, back in the day...

Actually PC games are proven to be used by smarter people. Starcraft for example requires a lot of skill and strategy. Where counsol is just run around and shoot IE COD.

If you're able to create profit for an employer, then you ought to be able to start your own fucking business and create that profit for yourself. :palm:

This is why watermarkfag needs socialism so bad. No one will hire his dumbass.

Unrealistic requirements? You mean like expecting you to show up on time and do what those paying you tell you to do?

i actually agree with the unrealistic requirements. HR requires so many skills and certification just for an entry level position its insane.

A lot of it is that the people who look for the workers in big companies have never tried to do the tasks the workers they are supposed to hire do which means they generate a list of required skills that can be deemed unreasonable.

There is no problem with requiring the skills. The problem lies when you require the skills for an entry level salary and title which means no one with the skills you want will be available.

You then cry about a skills gap and beg for h1b visas when people in the country could do the job perfectly well.

Do video games reduce crime by giving young men something more fun to do than hangout on the street corner?

I gave two specific requirements. Are they unrealistic?

What do you consider unrealistic skills for an entry level position? You say they are unrealistic yet do not mention what they are.

Yeah, they put games like Age of Empires onto handhelds because they are unworthy of consoles.
