I can't read this rambling but McConnell said he was willing to work with Obama if Obama was willing to work with him and if not he wanted to make him a one term President. Not sure why he said that publicly but point being he also said he was willing to work with him.
LOL
That's lip service. It's right there in the quote. He's not genuine about wanting to work with Obama, he wants to make sure Obama is a one term president.
Like i said, I have no idea why he said it publically. Republicans did work with Clinton when he was Pres so it's not out of the question.
Republicans worked with Clinton because Clinton was center-right, and white. I don't think McConnell is racist, or even most serving Republicans, but they do serve a base with those tenancies.

Clinton didn't start his term center-right; Republicans didn't work with him at all on HillaryCare nor did they offer a single vote on his budget raising taxes. After the first mid-term Clinton moved right and that's when compromise was struck. Obama chose not to do that.
you are a meatstick.
you are voting to help yourself - because you are a loser that needs help to get by. how pathetic is that!
No, you don't. You keep people mired in poverty to get votes. That's the antithesis of compassion, in fact, it's downright cruel.
It's easier to identify how we are the same and call everything else differences. Let's see, we all go to the bathroom. That's about it. Except for that we are different in every way.
Of course Clinton was center-right from the start (he ran ads on conservative radio). The country itself was center-right. Clinton used the method of political calculation called 'Triangulation' -- which is to offer a third way between his natural position (centrist) to the Republican position.
Criminal justice policy was right-wing, he started out as a neo-liberal from the school of Reagan, he appealed to redneck confederate flag worshipers.
In what way were either Bill or Hillary left-of-center before 2011?
Healthcare is NOT a conservative/liberal issue. Nixon pushed for universal healthcare.
The simple point is Republicans did not work with Clinton his first two years.
Of course one is. The one making a global spectacle of himself this very moment.
One passed healthcare .. the other can't figure it out after 8 years of whining about it.
Obama care is failing. It was supposed to transition to SP ( remember that?)..
Not that I think Trumpcare is any better -only Singlepay is cost effective and universal
The only real difference in the 2 is the level of Medicade expansion -and they both are budget busters
Neither is a good design, SPay is the only viable alternative to for profit healthcare.
PS..when you become a Democrat?
I can you see being anti-Trump; i can't see you being a partisan![]()
Republicans were a different animal in the 1990s, so were Democrats. Obama basically adopted the 1990s Bob Dole healthcare plan that the Heritage Foundation endorsed, along with Gingrich, and they spat in Obama's face. Because Obama used it.
Prior to 1994 Repubkicans were different. They sat back and got their asses kicked in every congressional election.
Now they control all three branches of government and even managed to steal a SCOTUS pick. Obstruction worked during the Obama era. It was a strategy and Obama could have done nothing to change that.
