Perhaps he was rejected by his mother at infancy because of the demonic glint in his eye and so, once rejected now hates all women, wants dominion over them and so used mistreatment and abuse in that attempt, to regain the love of his mom he did not get.

I heard that his mother was not a respectable woman who his father rescued from a certain lifestyle. We can only imagine the power structure in that household.
