Dems Getting 'Desperate' With Russia Allegations

President Donald Trump said Thursday on Twitter that he did not make and doesn't have any recordings of his private conversations with fired FBI Director James Comey.

In a tweet last month, Trump said Comey should "hope" no such tapes existed, prompting Comey to then leak memos about the conversations to the media.

Now, some Democrats are claiming that Trump's tweets don’t constitute an official response from the White House, and they're calling for further investigation into Trump's possible intimidation of a witness.

On "Special Report" tonight, Charles Krauthammer said this goes to show how "desperate" Democrats are becoming

He said the suggestion that Trump's tweet about "tapes" constitutes intimidation of a witness is "pure rubbish."

"We're now at sort of the tertiary level of accusation," Krauthammer said. "You can't get anywhere on collusion.
We have yet, in almost a year, to have any evidence of collusion. So they're on to obstruction.
Obstruction is really kind of shaky. There isn't really that much there. So now you want to go on to intimidation of a witness."

He said the Democrats are growing more "desperate," and all the allegations essentially amount to "tail-chasing."

"If the Democrats want to spend the next year, year-and-a-half in a rabbit hole, be our guest,"
Krauthammer concluded.

Anecdotal here but I really feel the whole Russian thing fading away. Especially after the Ossof loss. Dims may finally, actually be considering their problem is with themselves .
The Russian collusion thing was a last ditch desperate attemp to reverse the election outcome.

PENCE WILL SOON BE PRESIDENT IF TRUMP FIRES MUELLER, SAYS BUSH LAWYER

Vice President Mike Pence will soon lead the U.S. if President Donald Trump fires Russia investigation special counsel Robert Mueller, a Bush administration ethics lawyer said Saturday.

Trump’s legal team and surrogates are “building a case for firing Mueller,” wrote Richard Painter in a tweet after he appeared on Fox News Saturday. Painter was President George W. Bush’s chief White House ethics lawyer from 2005 to 2007.

“If that happens Mike Pence will soon become the 46th President,” Painter wrote. “Trump surrogates are making up Mueller ‘conflicts’ to justify firing him. That will be yet more obstruction of justice if it happens.”
Last week it was revealed that Mueller is investigating Trump for obstruction of justice for the way in which he fired FBI Director James Comey. Trump has called the investigation a “witch hunt.”

On Friday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that Trump technically “cannot obstruct justice" because he is the president. Yet while speaker of the House in 1998 Gingrich voted to impeach President Bill Clinton on charges of obstruction of justice and perjury.
Gingrich, who worked as a strategist for Trump and appears as his surrogate on television, argued on Twitter earlier this week that “Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair.” Gingrich questioned Mueller’s relationship to Comey.

Just because there hasn't been a headline about it in a few days does not mean Mueller's investigation is "winding down"... Quite the contrary...
Mueller is doing his due diligence and leaving no stone unturned.
I can't wait until Cheetos face tries to fire him...

I have to ponder, what would Hillary do in this situation, if a special prosecutor was investigating her and hired a crew of Republican donors...

Guaranteed if she'd been elected there'd be more serious and substantive investigations with her criminal activity than what has become the passé russian collusion thing. I don't even want to speculate what she'd do because I'd have to imagine her being the president. Gawd we dodged a bullet with that election!

Clinton Foundation's pay for play, Loretta Lynch and "matters" "instead of investigation",tarmac meeting
and of course revisiting WTF Comey did not charge her under the 'gross negligence' section of the Espionage Act.

instead we get "da Russians" which have no real bearing on the election except for the Russiaphobes
in the Deep State, and warmongers like John McCain - hyped by the lemming like Congresspeople

That's not much of answer.

Sounds a lot more like a dodge.
It's an answer. If I were in Trump's position I'd thank whoever hacked the DNC's emails enabling us to confirm the truth about what we already suspected, but he hasn't done that. Can't say that I blame him. It'd probably start another investigation.

So, your argument is that Trump has no problem with a foreign adversary hacking into a U.S. election, on the condition that it benefits only his party.

I guess that's probably true. Good to hear someone on your side admit that.

You're welcome.
If the RNC were half as corrupt as the DNC I hope for the same.
