Joe and Mika Are Getting Hitched

I wondered why Joe has gotten so weird, mean ,and nasty. Mika is the ultimate elitist.
I remember even Darla made that point..

But her Democratic/elitist hatred was always tempered by Joe's more sober political approach.
Somewhere along the line he became a "yes Dear" co-host and the show descended into a Trump hate fest.

While I'm sure the coffee klatch crowd loves this, it's to bad for those of us who used to look at the show for newsmaking

As their relationship has blossomed he has become more bitter. It really started after Trump outed their torrid love affair while Mika was married.

I think it is funny that Joey tries to pretend he is a conservative.

Your kidding right? Eight years of talk radio and Fox demogogues referring to President Obama as everything from an Islamic terrorist to gorilla and your getting bent out of shape because some obscure reporter uses a terrorist metaphor in describing Teump's latest lie? Beautiful
you guys do this all the time. I point to mindless "resistance" you point to Republican obstructionism.
Yet while it was under Obama you got bent ( not you personally) and now that it's Trumps being obstructionism -it's justifyable.

It's hypocritical . But this is no obscure reporter either -she's a regular on the #Trumphatefest show

i have no idea about all that. But the show used to be a decent political resource.

Now it's just Mikia's constant grimacing like she's sucking lemons. Joe then goes "yes Dear" *barf*

No I didn't get bent out of shape with the right's endless personal attacks on President Obama, expected such, every since the Newt years a good number of conservatives have have interpreted most political events as a melodrama, good guy/bad guy, us/them, etc., the only difference is the degree escalated with Obama

And MSNBC is what it is, as is Fox, networks never intended to be objective by design, they both exist to service a particular audience

the problem is no network really is impartial anymore -nor is WaPo and NYTimes.
we've degraded our body politic into a food fight type debate.

I think that's very detrimental. Governing takes compromise at some point or we wind up where we are.
I'm not defending Republicans - i said the same thing about their obstruction,
but I think it's worthy to decry the Dems same approach.

Morning Joe is symptomatic. it used to be a resource now it's just another food fight

No source is 100% objective, never was, but some are better than others, especially if you read rather than rely on verbal sources or infotainment. You can frame the news, present it in a way that favors your point of view, and you can fabricate the news, flat out create false narratives, the cable networks do the later

The key is to be a critical reader/viewer, know where your sources are coming from, and interpret it with the bias in mind, I can watch Fox/MSNBC cause I know what they are, but I'd still recommend reading as the most reliable source

agree. I have to pick out the facts from WaPo-knowing the slant is always anti-Trump.

But when the NYTimes openly says it uses advocacy journalism ( whatever that is supposed to be)
you have to wonder if we really are getting into the realm of Fake News.

The only way is to multi-source ; read as you say and stay engaged.
But how many Americans can spend the time doing that?

I think they are overcompensating because they believe they helped Trump get elected.

Early on they gave him a platform. He would call into the show. They never thought he could win. But then he won

Obviously I don't watch the show or follow the antics but I must say that I find Mika to be very attractive.:hitit:

As far as what it will do to the show, probably nothing. On one of the local Boston stations the news couple got married- this was back in the 70's I think. They stayed married and anchored that news show for decades. Chet and Natalie, if memory serves. It was a pleasure watching them grow old together. They kept it very professional.
