i remember this happened recently in another election campaign (it might have even been the earlier pre-run off in georgia... i forget).. liberals kept arguing trump was hurting the GOP candidate but it turned out that last minute calls from trump to voters actually improved the candidates chances by like 8 pts and put them over the edge for victory.

Trump =/= to all republicans. Republican hate does not translate necessarily to trump hate and vice versa.
