"President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to give up on the notion that China might be able to pressure North Korea into behaving better on the world stage, writing online that efforts to that effect have “not worked out” even though “China tried!”

“While I greatly appreciate the efforts of President Xi & China to help with North Korea, it has not worked out. At least I know China tried!” Trump wrote on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon."

Truth be known, China was never in the game to reel in North Korea, President Trump's foreign policy, which we have no clue of what it is yet, appears to be as sophomoric as his domestic policy

trump's foreign policy is not unlike most of his business/personal policies. That of bluster in the hopes of clouding the fact that he's impotent.

Or dysfunctional, even if you gave him a chance in the offset, hard to deny that incompetence seems to be the theme today

you can't do business w/China.
They have their own agenda and part of it is keeping the NK regime to bug the west.

Plus they don't want massive Korean immigration if the regime was in chaos

Then why do you suppose that President Trump recognize the obvious?

Then why do you suppose that President Trump recognize the obvious?
because China is the key to Korea, Only they could put economic pressure to try and get reforms.

So you gotta at least try. Besides any attempted cooperaton with other superpowers (including Russia)
might pay off on other matters

chocolate cake always helps :)

For the record this beating doesnt seem to be recent. It probably happened when the idiot was first captured.

China must be laughing its 2 billion asses off at Trump. Elected by bashing them, now obsequious even after he can't beg any results at all on the most important multilateral geopolitical strategic issue involving them.

What a hard ass, that Trump! To think we could have had an at least pigeon-Mandarin speaking former ambassador to China as Potus and Republicans elected a game show host. Think, dumbasses! Think!

Wasn't referring to the "idiot," rather the naivety of the President to think that China was suddenly going to jump in and now take an active role in curtailing North Korea

Trump had to get briefed by the Chinese after he made a request they could not grant. Didn't he get briefed in the US? Did he listen? Could he even remember?

Trump sat in the back of the class doodling and texting wagers to sportsbooks and used his family clout to purchase a C.

So when China put sanctions on NK, they weren't in the game to reel them in?

I heard some Republican fool on t.v the other day. In downplaying the Russia incident, he stated...'they hacked the DNC server. They couldn't hack ours, but.........'

Incorrect. They didn't WANT to hack yours. But suppose Wikileaks exposed early RNC emails, when they were scurrying around trying to do away with the idiot trump. Now THOSE would make for interesting reading, and possibly would have changed the election.

So when China put sanctions on NK, they weren't in the game to reel them in?
they are very wary of disturbing the status quo..they did halt some coal shipments.

But they do not want a breakdown of the regime..that would bring in massive poor Korean refugees
