Twitter in Chief Dumbass says he is actually being investigated

A representative from President Donald Trump's legal team said Trump is not under investigation, despite the President tweeting "I am being investigated" this week.

The lawyer, Jay Sekulow, contended the tweet was not a confirmation of the investigation, but instead a response to a report in The Washington Post.
"That tweet was in response to a Washington Post story that ran with five unnamed sources," Sekulow said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

:palm:

So why did Trump make the tweet?

He responds to the FAKE media claims.... you know, the ones with all those felonious leaks and anonymous sources.

I am amused by those who think the President shouldn't tweet or retaliate against the FAKE news the media engages in and their desperate attempt to fabricate impeachable offenses trying to somehow change election results because they refuse to accept them.

Sekulow also said that Trump’s tweet that led people to believe he was under investigation was in response to a Washington Post story in which unnamed sources said the president was being investigated.

That's actually not necessarily a concession by Trump. He may have been trolling WashPo.

Let's assume Trump isn't under investigation and that leaks to the contrary were fake news.

Just like that, the conflict of interest evaporates because Comey won't be used as a witness against the man that just fired him. If it's an investigation into Russian intelligence and the extent to which they meddled in the election, Comey's relationship to Mueller remains intact---because it has absolutely no relevance.

That explains it.

If it's true, there's a whole lot of people barking up the wrong tree lol.

Comey would be treated as a "hostile witness" in a court.
Instead he's buddy-buddy w/Meuller

You didn't answer the question.

Orwellian doublespeak, he said it but it don't count because he didn't say it

You can't tell from the Tweet whether Trump was conceding he was under investigation or whether he was mocking the leaks.

I shouldn't have to explain trolling to a poster on this board lol.

So "I am being investigated" means he ain't being investigated?

The guy is President of the Untied States, he flat out says "I am being investigated," and now your telling us that has some "alternative" meaning?

I really don't care, but it is complete inanity to tell another that something the President says isn't what he meant

You're not familiar with the use of rhetoric to point out an absurdity?

The notion that Rosenstein would council Trump to fire Comey and then turn around and say Trump should be charged with obstruction for doing it, is an absurdity.

Trump used a Tweet to point out the absurdity---not to tell the world he was, finally, under investigation.

Just like Comey..do we not have any public interest in knowing if POTUS is under an investigation?
Instead we go by unnamed sources? how is that OK/better?

Comey is either monstrously inept or he's a weasel.

There simply was no compelling reason for him to not go public with that---and he roundly deserved to be fired for it.
