Dubs One Win Away

From the best postseason ever and in the argument for greatest team ever. As an over 30 years long suffering Warriors fan the last three years have been surreal.

(And this is political because once the W's win the inevitable questions of will they go to the White House or not will come up.)

Lame championship. I know it's the way of the NBA now & sort of karma for Lebron since he did his own superteam thing, but NBA fans outside of Golden State were basically robbed of a year so Durant could get a ring.

Congrats on the championship, and I can't hold it against the fans at all, but I just don't know how the players can feel all that great about it.

yeah, if KD went to a team other than the Warriors and this was the result I'd be upset as well. At the end of the day you still have to win though and as last years Warriors showed nothing is guaranteed.

I'm a Lebron fan, so the narrative created by this series has bothered me more than anything. I can't rue a team for always trying to improve, and the Dubs have been smart about building their team & having the cap room to pull this off.

But now the media is all over the "Durant taking the mantle from Lebron as best player in the league" thing. Give me a break. I think KD is awesome, but it's pretty easy to rack up your points when the opposing D has to worry about so many great players.

If Lebron & KD switched places, the Dubs would still go 16-0 and I think it's questionable if the Cavs even would have made the finals.

LeBron is the best player in the world, no question. Look what happened last night when he sat out for one minute. The W's went on a 8-0 when he sat down. No way he should have to play 46 minutes like he did. Asking too much.

Yeah - that bummed me out. And he got slammed again for "disappearing in crunch time" and all that. Both he & Kyrie were exhausted by the end of that game.

Oh, well. I was glad they squeaked it out last year, at least. Would have been bad for Bron's legacy to lose 3 in a row to the same team, and it doesn't really hurt him to lose to one of the best teams in history this year. I don't care what anyone says - this year's Warriors would have beaten any of Jordan's Bulls teams easily.

I'm still of the belief Jordan is the G.O.A.T. but I wonder what it would have been like if he played in the internet/social media era LeBron is? LeBron gets critiqued and hated on beyond belief yet he is unreal.

Agree on both counts there. I still put MJ on top - he had that intangible, like Tom Brady does. Just a machine when the pressure was on.

But no doubt, the internet has brought a whole new level of scrutiny to these guys, and it amazes me what I see about LeBron, like he sucks because he's not as good as Jordan. What a standard! I've gotta start tuning Skip Bayless out...

what i loved about jordan is aside from pippen his initial team was almost all scrubs. He even had a white center : o . Players these days all seem to need super teams.

I can't watch people like Bayless. Colin Cowheard at least acknowledges it's about ratings so he'll say provocative things. I give him credit for being honest but I can't invest time in a show like that getting worked up over something the speaker doesn't necessarily believe.

I think they're the best team I've ever seen.

Disagree. If you substitute another top caliber player in for LeBron, there isn't another Eastern team with a supporting cast as good as Irving and Love, plus an overall balanced team. Now, said Cavaliers team might not be able to beat multiple other Western teams beyond the Warriors, but, it's still stacked.

I disagree with you. There is no advantage in conference.

It's a fair argument. The East is pretty weak.

But I'd argue that last year's OKC team was similar in talent, and KD couldn't get that team past a lesser version of the Warriors to make the finals. I really don't think there is an argument that KD is now the best player in the league, as a lot of pundits are saying. I could agree w/ something like most prolific scorer or best offensive player in general - but he can't carry a team like Lebron can.

I don't know if you watch, but the Eastern conference blows. After the LeBron Heat/Cavs teams, no other franchise is a challenge to most of the Western teams who make the playoffs, going back to about 2012. Luckily, Boston finally seems to be emerging once more. Before you know it, we'll be back to Celtics/Lakers.

That's not a fair argument at all.

Who are you going to sub in for King James?
