May Jobs Report: Everything You Need to Know

Employers will certainly be more selective in who they hire, that is for sure. Work ethic will certainly be more sought after than anything else.

We have the lowest unemployment rate in 16 years. Do liberals attribute that to Trump or Obama?

Hacks like Bukkkle, only talk about a slower month, but he ignores the reality of the unemployment rate.

Things are good right now for people who want to work. There are jobs just about everywhere. Personally I think it is result of a new President being elected.. Businesses feel the climate is more business friendly and went back to hiring.

There are job signs all over where I live and it is not that big of a town.

I find it hilarious how Bush got the blame for about 5 years into Obama's presidency, yet, Obama gets the praise for about 5 months into Trump's presidency.

Politics right? Facts have no place in politics anymore.

we wont see reasonable wage growth until you get rid of illegals.

Illegals are not generally working the higher paying technical or professional jobs. Those are and have been rising in wages. Under the table work is always going to be whatever someone decides to pay you if you accept.

Support for what is happening with the economy so far with Trump, yes. That part I do.

It will take time to assess. There was definitely an initial surge of investor confidence w/ Trump, reflected in the market surge - but that has since dissipated, and there is more uncertainty on Wall Street now.

He has had a few measures that are business friendly, but the admin in general has to stop looking like a circus. There are so many distractions right now, and it's hurting confidence. If anything, that has actually surprised me - I thought Trump would run a tighter ship & be more prepared on day 1.

I said earlier (on this thread or another) it is the perceived friendlier business environment by a new President that is driving this. Happens quite often, usually after a 2 term Presidency has just ended. Will it last? Hopefully. Even if I do not like a particular President I am always a champion for a good economy.

What specific bill has Trump signed into law that has resulted in the lowest unemployment rate in 16 years?

None.

Experts attribute the gains, particularly in manufacturing, to the health of the global economy, less so on the optimism of Trump's promises for tax cuts, infrastructure and deregulation.
"If you are a manufacturing executive, you're not adding employees based on hopes alone," says Arone. "It's based on more of a global growth trade than it is on the optimism regarding the Trump administration's policies."

I have college loans. I never root against an economy.

Imo, Dems who root against the economy right now are misguided. Even if they want Trump out in '20 - just nominate a good candidate.

So why was Bush blamed 5 years in and Obama still gets credit 5 months in?

What are your actual thoughts on it. Do you - and your understanding of economic cycles - think that Trump's policies are 100% responsible for the economy at this point?

Think before you post.

I keep saying you are a rational person Thing1. And I mean that.
