Chinese media says ‘selfish and irresponsible’ Trump has crippled U.S. leadership

To add my own personal experience.

I spent some time abroad in the past couple of years and among the people, Americans are still greatly respected. It is truly a different experience. And some of the time I spent in downtown Moscow. That was a huge eye opener for me.

I was in Korea on Business and was asked about Trump, now this is before he even came close to winning the nom. I said he is a joke, Americans just like him because his famous as a TV celebrity and he is making things interesting with his quips and whatnot. He said, I find him very interesting and some of ideas too. But of course he was mostly worried if he would be elected because of the TPP as he wanted it to pass. I stupidly told him Trump would never get the nom, let alone the presidency.

Seriously, at this point one either accepts as a fact that pumping ever more anthropogenic greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere is a really, really bad idea.

Or, if one is incapable of accepting that, they should have their right to vote stripped away for displaying manifest and utter stupidity. And for being a party, a willing dupe, to a looming and potentially catastrophic environmental crisis.

The Paris treaty was about as benign as it gets. There were no enforceable goals in it. Each country had aspirational goals and had vast flexibility in deciding how to make progress towards achieving those goals.

It doesn't get any more benign than that.

Interesting opinion, because, due to Reagan's actions against the USSR, we became the sole super power in the world and greatly respected. I think under Bush jr, people didn't like him, but still knew America was great. Then Obama comes along and portrays a weak leader. At first the world was like yeah, no more Bushy jr, and then they were like, what, he is practically continuing his war stuffs. In his latter term, America's position began to slide.

I think Trump believes he can just act like the CEO of his company (read country) and just make everyone do what he wants. He is incredibly naive about government, world politics and geopolitics. They he treated some world leaders when he was first in office, made me cringe. And these are our closest allies! I am not sure how well his first oversees trip went, because it has been marred by only one issue, the Paris Accord or Agreement.

People are literally freaking out over this and acting as if Trump just doomed the world. That is hysterical nonsense. All he wanted was to negotiate fairer terms for the US and they wouldn't even listen. Their loss. Because without the US, the PA is almost a paper tiger.
Have you even heard or Trump's terms ? Is this much like his plan to defeat ISIS? I don't think he knows shit from
shinola! He's the guy who was going to make coal great, again, lol

If you read my following post, I was dead wrong about Trump winning.

I am hesitant to say he won't improve this country.

I am right, however, that the world is freaking out over something that is really nothing and all they had to do was listen to what he wanted to negotiate. Seems they are the immature ones. IMO, from what I've read of the PA, I'm not expert, Trump made the right call when they wouldn't renegotiate. And you don't even know if it would have passed congress.

You need to read up on the accord, how long it took to hammer out and how it is based on principle and trust. It is a coalition, and the nation involved trying to what little they can to lessen humans effect on the planet.

I have, and don't see your faith in it.

If it was that important, why didn't other nations at least listen to Trump's requests, say one week, what would that matter?

The fact they didn't, shows me it is nothing but a political tool and ploy.

its a boon for chinas ability to take over the top spot we once held BEFORE trumpy

.. and Germany .. and Russia .. and Japan, who now realizes the precarious position they've put themselves in by being so dependent on America .. now led by a buffoon and Putin's "cock holster."

All rushing in to fill the void.

Trump 'accomplished' all this is less than 6 months.

.. because he's a buffoon and con man, and they know it .. even if you don't.

There is nothing to gain by talking to a buffoon.

Good points...
