In what weird world do you live? I never act as apologist for anyone - I just prefer people not to make the world immeasurably worse by self-indulgent sloppy-mindedness. Conservatives everywhere are reactionary - that's what makes them conservative. It doesn't make them - or even you(:)) - support every kind of conservative squalor however.

For what reason other than self-indulgence should I join the silly pack, any more than I would give my true opinion of Roman Catholicism, Judaism or Wesleyanism? You fascists will spend enough time trying to muddle everyone about Islam. As with RCs from the West of Ireland in the time of the Famine, peasants are ignorant and distrust anyone not a peasant of their own kind. Would it have helped, then, in Liverpool or Glasgow to write articles about such ignorance and call it Popery? I'd have waited for honest Papists, knowing that any other choice would strengthen all I distrusted.

This is a forum for discussing politics, culture, philosophy, and theology. I can't imagine why you would give your true opinion of specific religious faiths. I expect, as a Marxist, that your true opinion has something to do with mass graves.
