Being a little bit racist against your own race because you perceive them, rightly or wrongly, as having an unfair advantage over other races, is not as dangerous as the kind of racism practiced by the right, which seeks to widen that advantage even more at the expense of those of other races, ethnicities and religious faiths.

To put it in terms a wing nut can understand, it's like the difference between a .22 caliber bullet and a .44 caliber bullet.

They're both bullets and can hurt people, but the .44 of the political right does significantly more damage to those it's aimed at.

People that are and have been systemically disenfranchised need additional mechanisms to level of the playing field. Whites have an advantage by default, because they have historically been the disenfranchisers and the benefits of a largely white society and economic structure.
