not true at all. bush is part of the establishment and is a globalist. Many of trumps supporters in the midwest previously voted for obama. There is a reason the bushes and their friends supported clinton this time around.

Regarding the OP: Trump supporters just don't believe the media. In fact, they see the media [the bi-coastal, DC New York media, largely] as the political arm of the uni-party. As such, we despise them and the damage they have wrought on the republic. They also care about different things: where media liberals care about style, Trump supporters are more about substance and results. We just don't care what he Tweets. We want to see good jobs reports, secure borders and the Swamp drained.

Donald Trump is our instrument.
 
Trump supporters were absolutely Bush supporters not too long ago. After the neocons were defeated, they became libertarians (the polar opposite of neocons). Then they abandoned the pretense of having values or beliefs, and simply decided to support Trump.

I don't speak for all Trump supporters but I don't have 'a media', per se. My fave internet source is a clearing house that I scan daily. I focus more on topics than writers. I'll watch Tucker Carlson on FOX, occasionally. I thought O'Reilly was a blow hard. Hannity is too biased, though I admit to agreeing with him most of the time.

But I have absolutely no use for what I call the lock-step media. Not a lot of people do. Their poll numbers are tanked for a good reason and have been since before Trump came along.

When an event happens and gets reported on with little/no spin.

That's as close to the truth as you get. Most reporters actually don't spin, even on Fox News. That's the job of political commentators. If you get your news from political commentators, you have a problem.

But *what* gets reported can be a bigger issue than commentary.

Right now, the lock step media is obsessed with Russia. They much prefer reporting on the latest unproven Russian allegation than what the Saudis were saying about Trump's visit to Riyadh. They live in their own bubble.

It's been proven they are biased against this president---historically so.

Watergate was small potatoes compared to what Hillary got away with.

But the OP asked why Trump supporters aren't jumping ship---it's mostly because the media has jumped the shark over Trump and Trump supporters basically ignore them.

Watergate at least had tangible evidence. Russia Gate is air, by comparison.

And the Watergate investigation went on for like 3 years.

Hillary destroyed evidence and got away with it and Nixon didn't.

They didn't have BleachBit in Nixon's day lol. You're making my point: the media will run interference for liberals. There is no parallel between Russia Gate and Watergate because there is no crime in the former. And you can't have a cover up without a crime.

But if you want to invoke watergate as a parallel, Hillary's missing emails and Nixon's missing 19 minutes is right there for the making. It was dying to be made, actually.

But these people are [largely] progressive activists slash journalists and Hillary is one of their own, so they would never go there

Who makes the determination whether or not there was spin? You?

Like the rest of the lefties, you consider what you believe as the truth as no spin but what you oppose as being spun like a top. Does that pretty much cover it, boy?

I wouldn't argue with that. We have a society that now runs to its respective corners.

But is it any different on the left? Are they open to other news sources than Media Mattrrs or Think Progress?
