many euro countries are much smaller. Less suburban and urban sprawl. That means more walking. Which means healthier people. The fact that we drive 20 minutes to get anywhere is already a huge problem in america.
Countries like France, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden all do single payer health insurance and get generally excellent results with it.
If your contention is that California cannot do what France, Germany, and Sweden do I think you are either underestimating Californians, or you have a vested interest and an ulterior motive in making sure single payer does not happen.

I posted the article. I don't work for the state CBO. Democrats have a super majority in the California legislature. This isn't some right wing CBO. You see the price tag. How are you proposing California is going to do this?

Now I'm becoming Desh by talking to myself in a thread. I've become what I have mocked so I deserve whatever sh*t I receive here. But reading even more about this single payer issue in California I understand why liberals here don't want to talk about it or if they do it's in the form of accusations of wanting to undermine it or only caring about money and lacking compassion.
Gavin Newsome will be our next governor and he willl run on single payer in the state knowing it won't be possible to implement but he'll want the props for being considered progressive and supporting it.
And as we often here as California goes so goes the country and democrats will run on single payer in 2020 nationally. Good luck with that

Yes...it's always a failed attempt due to cost. How much of Cal's budget goes to supplying health insurance to public employees? Deduct that from their costs. Also....auto insurance should go down, as there is no longer a need for PIP.
