Trump wants to impose work requirement for food stamp users

Chronically disadvantaged people need training. That's why I advocate programs -- that cost virtually nothing -- to help people GET jobs. Studies have shown that this is the most effective way to get people off assistance. But trying to confront a Trump supporter facts is like giving a football to a monkey.

You don't need training when you're looking for your 1st job at age 16. Gimme a break. Just get out there do it. My parents made sure I started at some kind of job as a high school junior.......washing cars, mowing lawns, cleaning houses, cleaning boats, taking food orders at a local Italian restaurant after school, babysitting, petsitting, etc.

The 1st step is to at least finish high school. That's just common sense. Simple jobs don't require much training. Janitors, floor sweepers, busboys, convenience store clerks, bagboys, stock clerk, receptionists, car washers and detailers, hotel maids, local government jobs will train and employ you, start your own lawn mowing & landscaping service, on & on.

There is work, if one wants it.

I find it amusing that conservatives foster the conditions that lead to poverty, and instead of helping people out of poverty, they punch down, punish and demonize the people requiring assistance, and refuse to help them get out of poverty. I suggest that people be helped to advance their lives and thus boost the economy and reduce the economic burden of assistance, and I am accused of being a bad person.

Trump supporter logic.

Please elaborate.

What are those conditions that lead to poverty? Would that be unchecked illegal immigration driving wages down? I agree. But I would suggest that they have help from the democrat party.

There are three ways that are proven to keep you out of poverty. Ready?

1) graduate high school
2) wait until you are married before having kids.
3) take a job. Any job

Do those three things and your risk of living in poverty are extremely low

But I know that for you statists envisioning a world of people in the US living day by day makes you feel morally superior.

As I said, you caring liberals could help these people yourselves and cut out the middle man of the gobblement but for some reason you are reticent to do so.

I used to work at the State Health Dept. It's a joke. Steady stream of tricked out Cadillac Escalades, multiple cell phones, 6 kids under 10 each with their own cell phone or tech toy, "fresh" hair and nails, bringing costly bags of McDonalds to munch on in the waiting rooms, etc......getting their free Medicaid services and WIC. I used to laugh so hard at the show they put on as I would trek out to my '01 Civic in the parking lot at lunchtime to sit in my car, enjoying my brown bagged pbj sandwich and apple. :)

Fraud is everywhere and nobody in govt cares. Why should they? Govt can't do anything right.

It's not that simple. Thanks to affirmative action grading we have millions of blacks and latins who "finished" HS but read at a 3rd grade level. We need to require that a student pass the GED to get a HS diploma.

Sadly true. I should have said............The 1st step is to at least finish high school with proven working skills in reading comprehension, spelling, writing and math.

I don't want my money used to finance drones and landmines used in sovereign nations we are not at war with.
Sadly my opinion is meaningless to the government and so is yours.

well here is the thing rune, it's not meaningless. that's why we vote on the people we do. And we can help shape policy. We can destroy these government institutions that allow this stuff to happen. There likely will never be an end but we can always continue to fight for our beliefs.

He's already undone the Obeta Male. Not that there was much to be undone since Obama trashed his own legacy when he put it up against a Hillary victory.

exactly, he said himself that "this election is about my legacy" when speaking of the importance of Hillary winning.
Boy he nailed that one.

Look at the Trumptard making excuses for Trump wasting tax dollars.

Let me guess, you have no proof to back that up, do you?

Especially since nobody knows how much he pays, or even if he pays taxes.

The day this orange fuckwad goes down in flames will be the greatest day in the history of America.

You've got some drool, hanging from the corner of your mouth.

And, dried beans. Don't laugh. Good source of protein. I used to eat red beans & rice when I lived in N.O. It's a regional favorite, cheap and keeps you going.

I love it when the wife makes pinto beans and rice.
I mix them together and they're great. :good4u:
