US officials: Navy SEALs kill 7 militants in Yemen raid

US Navy SEALs killed seven militants associated with the terrorist group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula after carrying out a raid on a compound in Yemen, US Central Command said Tuesday.

Two US service members were lightly wounded in the operation but were safely evacuated from the scene, a defense official told CNN.

Do you think it was small to the Navy Seals?

No, I think it's par for the course. Getting Bin Laden was a big deal because it took some leadership. This was all the Navy Seals doing their job, and Trump not getting in the way. Remember, he doesn't even make these calls. He has given the military brass virtual autonomy.

I see, so when the Navy Seal who died in the raid at the beginning of his Presidency, that was not Trump's fault?

It's only Trump's fault if he makes a bad call. I don't know enough about that raid or its mission. I wouldn't blame Trump for losing people if the mission was legit.

bin Laden wasn't a player when we killed him.
AQAP (al-Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula ) is the "most virulent" terrorist group out there

I forgot all about Obama being right there in the middle of raid, staring down Bin Laden. Good thing you reminded me.

Yet many missions under Obama went bad and he was never blamed by his fawning Democrats. Trump get's all the blame for a mission gone wrong, and zero credit for a mission gone right.

Typical liberal hypocrisy.

And yes, con hypocrisy about trying not to give Obama credit for Bin Ladin is dumb.

How can you guys claim OBL wasn't big player when Obama approved the raid that killed him?

He was the most wanted terrorist in the world.

Jeeze.

he wasn't active .the intelligence cache we got from him though was big

At least he was in the situation room, concerned about the people he authorized to do the mission. He also took credit when things went wrong.
Can you say that about Trump?

I was on this forum when cons snarked about bin Laden getting caught during the Obama administration. According to them Obama deserved no credit.

That's an awful broad brush you paint with, ALL liberals, huh?

You don't know that. And that is not the point. Taking out OBL in effing Pakistan was a HUGE presidential DECISION. Obama made it, if he had failed you would be bitching about his leadership skills until the universe explodes.

Obama made the right decision. That is leadership. And you know damn well had it gone wrong what you and the cons would say....I don't need to say more.
