Interested to hear from the Head of State of Vatican City (Pope) in the country Vatican. I want to hear a gold-laden man who took a "vow of poverty" living in the height of security with borders and walls try to lecture Trump on not wanting the same security for our country.

its nice symbolism that he is visitnig the heart of sunni islam judaism and catholism one after the other. Sucks to be shia.

Too paraphrase Ronald Reagan - "Pope Francis, tear down that wall".

How many illegals live in his "holy" city? Err, is country? City-State? Is there is a difference? Yes, but minor.

I bet there is not one single illegal person living in that city.

Vatican is a country with its own borders, boundaries and walls to keep trouble out. It's a monarchy with all the usual political positions.

He's not gold laden. He renounced much of that right after he was elected. He doesn't wear the tailor made clothing and lives in a guest house rather than the extravagant apartments. He doesn't have private meals but eats with the others who live there.

I don't get your point. Is he supposed to destroy a historical edifice in a show of support with trump? You're really reaching here.

Pope has spoken out against America having a well-defined border.
But, since he lives such a well-protected, safe and secure life I don't feel he should expect other countries not to do the same if they so choose.

He's in charge. Much that he represents could be sold or auctioned off. The artwork, fine linens, gold and jewels could feed a couple countries for a while. Don't get me wrong. I'm not promoting the idea. It would just help contribute to a more impoverished appearance for the papal life he espouses to.

The Pope made a big show during the campaign to mouth off about "bridges, not walls," when he himself lives behind the huge protective walls of the Vatican, with not one single illegal alien living in his country.

The Don pointed out The Pope's hypocrisy and shut him up.

The buildings, walls, sculpture, paintings etc. of the Vatican are considered its national treasure and on the list of World Heritage Sites. The walls were built around 800 AD and don't surround the city completely. The Pope himself can't unilaterally tear down walls or dispose of everything in the Vatican according to whim, anymore than a U.S. president could sell off our national treasures. Also, anybody can go through the Vatican walls at anytime. There are no border guards asking for papers from those who enter.

Every wall in the world can't be used as ammo just because it's an ongoing issue with Americans.

You are totally, completely, 100% clueless. Pick up a history book for a change, you're talking out your nether regions.

I've been to the Vatican Museum.. it's stunningly opulent and beautiful and awesome at the same time..

Just like I wouldn't want the Cairo museum collection broken up,i would hate to see the same there

I've been there too. So we both know that the Vatican wall doesn't keep anybody out.

I'm fine with them keeping all their earthly treasures and worldly goods. Really....I am, I don't want'm. Just as a lot of fundamentalist hucksters want to keep their millions, mansions and private jets. I'm a capitalist, LOL. I'm just not a fan of either if they tell other people with fewer 'comforts' they need to give from their true poverty. Jesus had way too much to say about this than I could print here.

As for the other matter, whether it's the Pope or others who are able to maintain safety and security through walls, borders, gates or Vatican Swiss Guard......I don't appreciate being told that I or my country shouldn't be afforded the same right.
