Radical Islamic Terrorism

Name any politician who isn't? Easy to be holier than thou if you're not in power.

This particular one bothers me more because of how trump made it a big part of his campaign and how brutal he was toward those politicians who believe you don't poke the bear.

I don't think even the most ardent Trump supporters would claim that he is very consistent or indeed likeable. I happen to think that his unpredictability is a strength sometimes as it is seriously off putting to his enemies not least fat Kim!

If he talks about Sunni Islam being hijacked by the salafists -"Islamic Extremism" is correct.

If he talks about salafi jihad, then 'Islamic terrorism' ( driven by radicalism) is correct.

Lets hear the speech before kicking dirt all over it..m'ok?

KKKhristiefan is on the rag

He viciously attacked Obama, Hillary and other for not using that phrase. It''s been a right-wing mantra for ages. trump says "Unless you're going to say [radical Islamic terrorism], you're never going to solve it..." So let's see him put his money where his mouth is.
you mean Obama's "violent extremism"? Obama wouldn't even use ANY reference to Islam!

But that was domestically. He use the term domestically. Is it the same going overseas?

The people overseas know he uses that term. Now to ask another question, would it be appropriate if trump used the phrase in the middle of negotiations, in a neutral tone of voice? (As neutral as it gets for him.)

trump: "How can we work together to defeat radical Islamic terrorism?"

I think of Reagan calling the Soviet Union the evil empire but I don't think it hypocritical if he didn't use that term when meeting w/Gorbachev.

Now you know why people call you a dumb cunt.

He hasn't even made his speech and here you are starting a thread bitching about it.

For fucks sake shut your fucking cockholster

Will trump say it when he speaks in SA? I think we all know he'll weasel out.

"As President Trump embarks on his astonishingly ambitious first foreign trip, he faces an intriguing test of rhetorical resolve: Will he use the expression “radical Islamic terrorism” when he addresses the Muslim world from Saudi Arabia? Top aides aren’t saying. “I haven’t seen the latest draft,” one senior official said evasively. “There are pros and cons to saying or not saying,” another said. “He will definitely discuss extremism,” a third said. Radical Islamic extremism, Yahoo News asked? “Extremism,” came the answer. While the remarks were still being finalized Friday, early drafts reportedly omitted the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Candidate Trump might be surprised to find this much West Wing waffling on an issue he portrayed as absolutely central to the war on terrorism during the 2016 campaign. In rallies, speeches and debates, he made it clear that he believes the United States cannot defeat groups like al-Qaida or ISIS without branding them with that label. And he mocked both then-President Barack Obama and his rival, Hillary Clinton, for shunning the words.

“I am going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country,” he told a cheering crowd at an October rally in Ocala, Fla. Clinton “won’t even use the term,” Trump said. “Our incompetent president won’t use the term ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’

“He won’t use it. He tries to explain it. He spends hours trying to explain why. If you don’t identify your problem, folks, you’re never going to get rid of it. It’s only getting worse,” he declared.

The Saudis (King Salman) are hip to what they've done prior to bib-Laden.
9-11 was their wake up call too. Quit exporting/exhorting "Radical Islam".

Afterall bin-Laden wanted to take down the Suadi's too,and rule the land

You're right.
He does seem to have more bravado when typing on Twitter than when he actually meets muslims or Mexicans face to face.

In that respect he is quite akin to his rightwing message board fan boys: those who only have the courage to used words like c*nt and n*gg*r when typed from the safety of an anonymous keyboard, but who undoubtedly never use those words face to face in front of the work colleagues, their bosses, their neighbors.

he may say it

I think of Reagan calling the Soviet Union the evil empire but I don't think it hypocritical if he didn't use that term when meeting w/Gorbachev.

The Russians found it demeaning and leaders were angered by the use of the phrase.

Personally I believe demeaning an entire country or an entire religion is a real low-rent thing to do.

But was Reagan a hypocrite for not telling Gorbachev his country was evil to his face? You're arguing hypocrisy here
