A White House official close to Trump is a 'significant person of interest' in Russia probe

A senior White House advisor close to the president is now a person of interest in the investigation of possible collaboration between Moscow and Donald Trump's campaign.

The Washington Post reported Friday that a current White House official has been identified as a person of interest by law enforcement investigating possible collusion between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

The person in question is a senior advisor in the White House and is close to the president, the Post reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

A Justice Department spokeswoman told the Post that she "can't confirm or deny the existence or non-existence of investigations or targets of investigations." An FBI spokesman declined to comment to the Post.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said in a statement, "As the President has stated before — a thorough investigation will confirm that there was no collusion between the campaign and any foreign entity."

This development comes on the heels of former FBI Director Robert Mueller's appointment as special counsel for the investigation.

People familiar with the case told the Post that Mueller has already brought on new staff members to the investigation. They said, however, that the case had already increased in significance prior to Mueller's appointment.

Where there is smoke!

Is there a law that was broken?

Or are you just investigating until you can find something?

What specific law do you THINK was broken counselor.

Is there a law on the books about collaborating with a foreign country to win an election? I am not saying they did. Just asking what law was broken IF they did.

There you have it folks. The tacit admission that fan boys of Drumpf are totally cool with collaborating with the Kremlin and Russian intelligence agencies to influence an election to favor Republicans.

Every Republican here over the age of 40 remembers when Republicans whined for half a decade about the Chinese supposedly influence the 1996 election on behalf of the Clinton campaign. I believe there were even congressional investigations. So with that backdrop, I have to assume you are lying your ass off and just parroting whatever baloney Sean Hannity ordered you to regurgitate.

That was all very cute but you didn't answer the question

What law are you saying is broken?

Did MediaMatters not tell you yet?

Did you ask this question when conservatives bellowed and whined and claimed that China influenced the 1996 election to help the Clinton Campaign.

Specifically, Trump interfered with a federal investigation in which he had a clear conflict of interest in doing so, and thereby obstructed justice. Asking Comey to back off the campaign investigation is against the fucking law. Firing him was about as unethical as Trump could get in regard to the matter.

Trump is a blooming idiot, admit it!
