Mr. Coats better start polishing up his resume. :D

"The highest-ranking intelligence official in Donald Trump's administration disagrees with him: There's no doubt that Russia was behind the series of hacks and leaks against Democrats that helped get Trump elected, he said.

In the first annual report to the Senate Intelligence Committee, Trump-appointed Dan Coats, the new Director of National Intelligence, declared Thursday that "only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized the 2016 U.S. election-focused data thefts and disclosures, based on the scope and sensitivity of the targets."

That's a direct contradiction of a curious stance Trump himself has largely maintained since before he was even elected: that it's impossible to know the culprit of the Democratic hacks really was. Less than two weeks before the report, Trump reiterated that claim, this time indicating the culprit could have been China. He also claimed that "If you don't catch a hacker, okay, in the act, it's very hard to say who did the hacking," a sentiment that cybersecurity professionals strongly disagree with."

I really don't understand people who consistently lie. Most especially where there is no point in lying. In that respect, Drumpf appears to be much like his message board lackeys!

What is the benefit to Drumpf for lying about the size of inauguration crowds, about Obama wiretapping him, or that Russia unequivocally was involved in hacking and attempting to sway the election to their preferred candidate, The Hapless Orange Clown? Unless he is, as Republican Senator Ted Cruz famously said, a pathological liar who cannot tell truth from lies.

“You know I hate, detest, and can't bear a lie, not because I am straighter than the rest of us, but simply because it appals me. There is a taint of death, a flavour of mortality in lies - which is exactly what I hate and detest in the world - what I want to forget.” - Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness

It's old news. We know Russia messed with our election in some way. They do it with everybody. But, Trump is not involved! Geeeeesh :palm:

funny thing is Donna Brazille AND the main stream media affected the election results more than Russia, by all accounts I've seen proven so far, but yet she rests in peace.

This is not about whom affected the elections to liberals, it's about trying to tie Trump to something he can not be tied to.
But it's sure as heck fun watching them try

Then you should have no problem with an investigation .. in fact, you should welcome it.

thanks

hey Goober, there is an investigation ongoing, has been one for months, so pay attention or find a thread you know something about, like the "racism runs rampant in Chicago" one, I'll find it for you

It doesn't matter to partisans/fake news..
throw enough 'stuff' against the wall -amplify it by WaPo,and CNN & presto enough of it sticks to derail an agenda.

Isn't American politics desirable these days?? :whoa:

You think this is all stuff just getting thrown against the wall? Holy shit have you got blinders on or what?

you need to discriminate..
i get really tired of answering 1/2 baked questions - no offense to you personally -but it's tiresome for me to try to figure out what exactly you refer to.

'Constitutional crisis /watergate" ( Archibald Cox etc.) is pure junk analogy if that's what you refer to.
