Nixon Redux: Comey Fired

He was fired because he re-wrote the law to not indict Hillary.

Thats not what Rumps letter firing focused on, in fact it did not even mention that, the letter focused on Comey having said he is not investigating Rump.

"While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau."

Lets look at this operative sentence from Rump to Comey...

In other words.... Even though you keep assuring me that you are in the tank for me, I am still going to fire you. This is not The Apprentice.

So, I have a question... have there been complaints that he has not been effectively managing the bureau? I heard Rump praise Comey for the handling of the Hillary email investigation, so what is the reason? Why now?

For doing something Obama should have done?

Why should it have been done at all?

I don't know the reasons for the firing - they may or may not be based on self-interest for Trump, though who would really be surprised if they were? But the timing & the way this was handled only lends itself to suspicion.

I've even seen concern on this from more than a few on the right. This is a bad look.

yes there have been complaints.
Comey was showboating /Comey should not have not indicted based on no intent
( which the gross negligence Espionage Act does not require.)

Trump's letter specifically refers to a letter to him from the Attorney General, which states:
I cannot defend the Director's handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton's emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken. Almost everyone agrees that the Director made serious mistakes; it is one of the few issues that unites people of diverse perspectives.

The Director was wrong to usurp the Attorney General?s authority on July 5, 2016, and announce his conclusion that the case should be closed without prosecution.

Is it? How would you know?

But, you find all kinds of suspicion in that, and think that 3 intelligence agencies can be discredited & dismissed with ease.

I don't know what's going to happen w/ this investigation - especially now - but man, if they do find something, your credibility here will be completely, 100% done.
ooo. I'm shaking in my boots. Look dude. This is a political message board, and one talks about politics.
I back up what I say - it doesn't mean i'm prescient,it means it's ILLOGICAL there was Russian collusion
as well as there hasn't been a shred of evidence, and much has been looked at.

BTW the 3 intelligence agencies conclusions about Putin's motives have noting to do with Comey or the tarmac meeting.
You seriously need to get informed

Trump's letter specifically refers to a letter to him from the Attorney General, which states:

But Rump previously praised Comey's handling Secretary Clinton's email investigation.

Why did Rumps personal letter focus on Comey's investigation into Rump instead of Comey's investigation into Clinton?

Why not now? Do you think any investigation will die now? Is that what you believe?

But Rump previously praised Comey's handling Secretary Clinton's email investigation.

Why did Rumps personal letter focus on Comey's investigation into Rump instead of Comey's investigation into Clinton?

So what? You're bring up tiny things that are inconsequential, attempting to obscure the fact that Comey usurped the law and let Hillary slide, with the piss-poor excuse that he couldn't prove intent. Yet a Navy sailor sits in prison for taking a few photos of an engine room.

Do you support people of power and privilege being able to ignore the laws, while plebes like us rot in prison for lesser crimes?

You're looking at the wrong letter. The one that matters was written by Rosenstien---the deputy AG that was approved by the Senate 94-2 or something like that.

You can hyperventilate about Trump and Russians all you want to, but at the end of day Comey's firing was over due. As for the timing, exactly how long do you kick the can down the road on an incompetent FBI director?

And if they DON'T find anything, what happens to your credibility here??
