I don't know the answer to that, it may well be that Obama knew Flynn was a bad guy, but did not have the evidence to prove it. It could also be that those issuing security clearance (you know Obama was not personally involved in that right?) needed Flynn, or needed him not to know they were on to him. Maybe they were watching him closely enough that it did not need to be revoked.

Anyway, it is clear that the Vetting process for National Security Adviser is suppose to be more rigorous than even that for security clearance. Yet for some reason, warnings by the Justice department and the President of the United States were not enough to hold up the vetting. I would love to see the forms Flynn filled out in the vetting process... one of two things. Flynn lied to Congress (a felony) OR Rump knew about his connections to Russians and did not care!

Trump heard the warning, had the allegation looked into, and 18 days later after carefully considering, drew the conclusion that there was something there that warranted getting rid of him.

To think that somehow Trump gets a heads up from an Obama operative and immediately is supposed to conclude no further inquiry needed before acting is a little silly.

And it was just coincidence that the fireing came after the NYT called the White House and told them that the story was going to run the next day?
