Disappointed in French elections : (

well, if tsuke is a troll, so be it. as far as having no experience, you do realize that that is exactly what the framers of this government intended, was for people to come from their farms, legislate only what needed to be, then go back to their personal lives, right? or do you believe that we should allow a special caste of elites in our nation to be the only ones allowed to run our government because of 'experience'?????

Ordinary people can't run a government. This isn't 1787 .. and the Framers were wise enough to know that they couldn't speak for America hundreds of years into the future. It's a living document.

If you choose to vote for people with no experience in government, that's your choice brother.

.. good luck with that.

well, I can't share your very low opinion of ourselves by believing that there are people better educated, smarter, more proficient, and overall superior beings to me that only they can run government. I feel sorry for you over that.

Name the ordinary people who run government outside of the anomaly of Trump. What a wonderful job he's doing, eh?

Since when did experience stop becoming an asset and become a bad word.

when a majority of people like you accepted that only experienced people can run the government, which allowed for the obvious cronyism and corruption rampant in both parties. congrats.

You think they should've voted for LePen simply because she is a woman?

it was HER turn. It was time to break the glass ceiling. It would have meant so much to all the woman and little girls in france to know that THEY TO could be president someday! People just didn't like le pen because she was a strong fierce independent woman who don't need no man to tell her how to be president. But instead misogynists won the election by voting for a rich white dude with no political experience. This is BULLSHIT. This sexism cannot be tolerated. Where is my pussyhat? I want to march. #imwithher

It is not a living document. That is why Jefferson assumed that the future would bring subsequent constitutional conventions - to put a permanent end to the one that Madison and Co. authored. Consider that the convention in 1787 was purposed to amend the Articles of Confederation. The present constitution authorizes conventions to assemble for the purpose of amending. But it is not a living document, and we are well passed the time in which Jefferson guessed that the Constitution would be scrapped.

:0) That you somehow think would not have happened if ordinary people were running the government???

They would be EASIER targets of corruption.

You're parroting a ridiculous right-wing meme.

If you ever need surgery .. be sure to look for a surgeon who's never done it before.

i believe you can see them now marching in paris. Just like when Trump was elected.

He is trolling but you can't tell because he is so shitty at it.

actually quite the opposite. getting a reaction without the other person knowing they are being trolled is the best type and highest level of trolling.

Every constitution, then, and every law, naturally expires at the end of nineteen years. If it be enforced longer, it is an act of force, and not of right. It may be said, that the succeeding generation exercising, in fact, the power of repeal, this leaves them as free as if the constitution or law had been expressly limited to nineteen years only. In the first place, this objection admits the right, in proposing an equivalent. But the power of repeal is not an equivalent. It might be, indeed, if every form of government were so perfectly contrived, that the will of the majority could always be obtained, fairly and without impediment. But this is true of no form. The people cannot assemble themselves; their representation is unequal and vicious. Various checks are opposed to every legislative proposition. Factions get possession of the public councils, bribery corrupts them, personal interests lead them astray from the general interests of their constituents; and other impediments arise, so as to prove to every practical man, that a law of limited duration is much more manageable than one which needs a repeal." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:459, Papers 15:396

Let me guess .. you mean THAT Thomas Jefferson. :0)

It's a living document that has been amended many times.

i always thought living document meant you had a process to change it. When necessary you go thru that process. Instead of just interpreting it however the hell you want every so often.

quite a few have been elected to Office with no political experience. Eisenhower had no political experience
Do you really think a plutocratic permanent ruling class is the way to go?

living just words that mean what you want them to mean. uber-elasticity.

The text is the constant. laws have to have permanence unless sun-setted out

In BAC's defense he's not taking about that -he's talking about a reborn ( my words)
Constitution every so often so the living are not bound by the dead's ideas/laws.

That was why personal debt couldn't be passed on from one generation to the next

btw one of the things macron ran on was firing 5 public employees for every new one hired IIRC. Lol.

You voted for a plutocrat .. so NO.

Name the inexperienced politicians that you have voted for.

... case closed.

no it's not "case closed". I voted for quite a few at the governors level and Congress
( do i need to look them up?) I've always been an advocate for 3rd party -at one time you were also.

Trump is a rich businessman, but he ran as a populist -NOT a plutocrat, and most definately NOT a statist like Hillary.
I realize he's probably going to get eaten by the Swamp ( establishment) but he at least is devolving
excess federal powers back to federalism by rolling back Obama regs..which is a welcome 180

so we'll see
