Some good news. NASCAR is dying

Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
People are wising up and realize this "sport" is just human cock-fighting. 35,000 americans killed on our highways every year and NASCAR loves and encourages it!!!! These people are sick.

april 30 2017 RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France says the challenge of connecting with a new, younger generation of fans is something that all sports are trying to figure out, and one that NASCAR will take some time to figure out.

Speaking at Richmond International Raceway before Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, France compared the challenge sports are facing to the one retailers are facing because of the popularity of online shopping.

NASCAR has seen crowds shrink at virtually every track, many of which have removed seats, and its television ratings have plummeted. At Richmond, which once routinely seated more than 100,000 fans for races in the premier Cup series, only 60,000 seats remain and they were not close to full for Sunday's 400-lap race.

nascar died the day it submitted to the green antichrist islamic will of the worthless hybridized supertraitor named barack. I can't find the video; it is being "blacked out". I saw it live. it was gross at least. dale jr. has submitted. it is winding down babies. where are your loyalties, bitches ? flags ? dollars ? nations and foolish men ?

It's just a redneck spectator sport, who gives a damn if it dying?

The only reason anyone would dislike NASCAR is because the track route is too complicated for them to learn. ;) Come on folks, didn't you all grow up loving cars? This is America and every red blooded male raced at some point in their life, didn't they? I do admit I am a dyed in wool car and backroad lover. Still love the open road and destination anywhere. I wish though we had better public transportation, I road a bicycle to work for over twenty five years year round, till semi retiring. My dislike are all the foreign cars and wannabee cars, yuk, where's your American soul. I hate that Toyota is in Nascar, seems un-American to this fan. After my Buick comes another Chevee. Gotta say that right.

This makes no sense. What does nascar have to do with traffic fatalities? That's like blaming action flicks for violence.

I bet you rode a mountain bike or a hybrid on the road too. You can be such an effete snob Midcan.

Jimmy Johnson killed NASCAR!

I like NASCAR and despite what the haters and road racers say the live events are exciting. Yeah, yeah turn left, turn left is what it's all about. If that were true how comes so many F1 drivers have tried NASCAR and failed? I've seen too many interviews of famous race car drivers who claim driving at Daytona is the most stressful thing you can experience in race car driving. Driving nearly 200 mph in bumper to bumper, traffic, even if it's just in circles, is just insane.

Here's what's wrong with NASCAR.
Ticket prices are far to high.
They over exposed the sport on TV.
They are choosing drivers based more as corporate pitchmen than driving talent. Dale Earnhardt couldn't get a ride in today's NASCAR. Neither could AJ Foyt. This a huge problem as NASCARs old generation of stars who put asses in seats are retiring and have been replaced by corporate pitchmen who are as entertaining as an unsalted cracker.

Then there is the chase format. NASCAR was at its absolute peak of popularity when they implemented the chase format and the Jimmy Johnson era of dominance began. It's probably not a coincidence that this is when NASCARS decline began.

NASCAR made a huge mistake also during the Great Recession when the raised ticket prices even further when it was a huge chunk of their fan base that was hit hardest. Many of those fans who could no longer afford to go to events because of rising prices and falling incomes found other things to do and have not gone back.

NASCAR needs to address those issues and the fact that they keep chasing youth and diversity demographics prove the don't get it.

I'm smack dab in the middle of NASCAR Country and besides not being a fan (of any professional sport) have contacts in the sport and have been in the Childress shop. What amazed me is the lack of current technology. Solid rear axles. Pushrod engines. A sport that used to drive automotive technology is stuck in the 1960s.

NASCAR should get back to its roots and race cars that come off of the factory assembly lines.

Driver turnover has hurt a lot.
I am a Johnson fan and I knowe he and Gordon before him have not gotten the folliwing the old timers had.
I'd suggest getting over burdonsome restrictions. If you can make your car faster, have at it. Petty won 200 times because his guys kept finding speed.
Needs to become fun again.

Thanks. Started with a beat up Schwinn, then a steel Univega, both road bikes, went through lots of wheels, tires, forks etc. Treks made here after they wore out. My son and I built our wheels. Weekend bike was a Merlin Ti, made in the good old US of A. Did lots of centuries and a few double centuries, I wonder today if if this effete snob could do another double in a day. Never owned a mountain bike, but I do ride a fixed gear, takes some getting used to, but fun too. A cross bike at the end. Oh and have a recumbent made here too. LOL

Mott, do I sense some green eye?

"Consider a man riding a bicycle. Whoever he is, we can say three things about him. We know he got on the bicycle and started to move. We know that at some point he will stop and get off. Most important of all, we know that if at any point between the beginning and the end of his journey he stops moving and does not get off the bicycle he will fall off it. That is a metaphor for the journey through life of any living thing, and I think of any society of living things." William Golding

Not really Midcan. I held a USCF license for five years. Was cat 3 for three. Did more century rides then I can count did a double once and had no desire to do it again. Once got busted doing 60 in a 25 mph zone descending Clingmans Dome and I've done the legendary Mt. Washington climb. What a pig bitch that was. I started out with a Raleigh Technium with suntour groupo. Sold it for a Schwinn Premise with cbus slx and 105. Later bought a Schwinn Paramount before they became Waterford. Also had a Cannondale for time trailing. Still have the Paramount and in the process of changing the original ultegra groupo with lightly used Dura Ace 7800 groupo.

My current main bike is a Raleigh International with full Campy Athena, Reynolds 853 frame set with chrome lugs and mavic kysrium elite wheels. Eat your liver dude.

I love cars too. The problem is the psychopaths who drive them

Rule one: never assume Mt bike

Eat my liver? Huh? Not sure what that means, but I see you are the effete snob. Some of us served the nation, worked, finished college, raised a family, and built a home and didn't have time for child's games. They were games then. See how easy it is to twist things around and around. Now your turn and oh and please no more my wheels are better than your wheels, egads man you sound like Trump.

That's the point.....all machines must be equal in all ways. You put a computer chip technology and fuel injected water cooled fuel systems into the sport and the best cheater will always win. The method of remaining old school simplifies the process of making all cars equal....that way its not a car that wins...its the talent or lack thereof with the driver that wins or loses. As Pap always said, the cream rises to the top every time. The only variable is always the skill or lack thereof of the OTHER DRIVER.....one untalented driver can take out anywhere from 1 to a dozen drivers at any given moment.

Compare NASCAR with the sport of golf. Imagine what would happen if all the players had to play with the same equipment. Blade irons, Persimmon drivers and fairway woods.....and a golf ball that was not designed to average 300 yards + off the tee....everyone uses the old bladder filled ball, all produced from the same manufacturer.

What would happen....the golfers with the real skills would come to the top leaving those who depend upon modern technology in the dust.
