When did fighting for federally funded universal healthcare become a republican ideal? Why are we, as republicans and conservatives, celebrating a healthcare plan and probable law that embraces a form of socialized medicine? The GOP is trying to beat the Democratic Party at its own party ideal. President Trump said that we will get the healthcare we deserve in his speech yesterday. We don't deserve nor are we entitled to universal healthcare. President Trump should have repealed the law and said that the constitution is being enforced and respected.

Charles Krauthammer was talking about this on Tucker's show last night.

Ultimately, the left won on healthcare, because the country's expectations shifted over the past 8 years. All of the conversation about healthcare is on what Krauthammer called "liberal grounds."

The country won't accept anything less than universal healthcare now.

when it became the only thing we could pass.

Then the GOP is weaker than we all thought even when they have power and President Trump isn't as good of a deal maker as he made himself out to be in my opinion. Unless this is what the president truly wanted from the start which I believe is true since he has expressed his goal of covering every American. When we are happy that a slightly less bad version of the same bad law is passed then we have no hope of ever truly following what the constitution allows the government to do and moving away from socialism and back towards free market systems. No conservative or republican should be proud of this replacement in my opinion.

I agree. And this is how a centralized government gains more and more power. People get used to things.

Please know that when this system fails, which it ultimately will since it was already failing, republicans will be blamed for it. This will ultimately lead to higher debt, higher costs, and a faster pace towards single payer. And it got its kickstart from a GOP led congress and White House.

I'm sorry to say that I hope constitution focused conservatives in the senate vote no and dont fall in line with populism and the easy road. Passing something for the sake of passing something is never a good idea in my opinion. People are thinking way too short term with this. I'd rather a few years of struggle by fully repealing the law and keeping the federal government out of national healthcare then suffer the long term consequences of expanding federal governance and entrusting them with our healthcare.

republicans have abortions too idiot

And? (do you not see how narrow minded and political you are? Its not a matter of republican or democrat rights...its a matter of moral righteousness)...but, I get it....."you" profess to have the right to kill any children you do not want....but no one has the right to make you support the children YOU DECIDE to have? Is that right...err...left? Its your individual right to kill children...but once the child passes through the magical vagina....it takes a village to raise the child that you decided had the right to live?

And why not "document" the last instance in this land of plenty where a child has "starved to death" that was not the personal failure of the parents? In fact the history of the US is the direct opposite of what you are attempting to suggest (that republicans are starving children to death).......the US is number one in the world in childhood obesity, and childhood obesity has TRIPLED from the 80s to date.

Proving what? The more money you toss in the direction of welfare parents....the fatter and more worthless their children become. The opposite of what your LIBERAL FASCIST COHORTS PREACH as policy....survival of the fittest and government birth control through eugenic engineering....i.e., ABORTION ON DEMAND and STERILIZATION of healthy female welfare parents.

Admit it: You have sold your soul in support of the assumption that YOU GET SHIT FOR FREE (nothing is free in this world....someone has to work their asses off to provide you with free shit) and its the duty of your neighbors to take care you you and the children you might have from the cradle to the grave.

The opposite of RIGHTEOUSNESS is what you have sold your soul for, "Anyone that does not provide for his relatives, especially their own family; have denied the faith and is worse than an infidel...." -- 1 Tim. 5:8

Look you are young and idealistic. You haven't learned that shit is fucked and there is no stopping the takers.

All we can do is hope to kill as many takers as possible in the interim, and ideally gradually ween people off the tit of government over a century or so.

Once you give the takers a taste of other peoples money, they are hooked. Worse than heroin.

Idiot, Congress did not repeal Obamacare, far from it. The House passed a bill that would repeal Obamacare, something they have done lots of times.

They Replaced it with substantially the same deal, just some changes that kick people off.

Rump said he would repeal Obamacare on day 1, its VERY far from being repealed.

Wake me when a bill is sent to his desk.

IN the Nixon Administration.

Jeesh, you people...

1) Congress did not repeal Obamacare. (You are an idiot if you don't understand how a bill becomes a law)

2) Government funded universal healthcare was a Republican ideal before it was picked up by the Democrats by Clinton. (Learn a little history)

What are you ranting about? Are you psycho?

Stop being so dishonest.

Answer the question Jarod.

I am sorry Yaya, I remember you tried to make a point about something I liked a few weeks ago, but I don't even remember what the topic was. I don't understand what you hope to derive from a like of a post. Maybe you can direct me to what thread it was in?
