I've spent a lot of time reassuring employees of State and their families that despite Trump and a absent leader they'll survive.

I'm military assigned to the FSO. Ain't going anywhere.

Most of us aren't beholden. I even enjoyed some of the Bush years. You'll find only the appointees are flag carriers, the rest of us, military, career service and other lower levels are here to do a job usually nonpartisan. Since the election we've only been getting orders from mid level mgt. Tillerson's not even involved and most mid tier appointees are from the Obama era. They can't find any one to work mid to operate mgt, appointee or not. Because of Trump and his unpredictability.

The president's budget proposal released earlier this month calls for deep cuts to the department,
I doubt it's "unpredictability" of Trump.

Face it. Foggy Bottom became the worse of the worst since Hillary's minions were there to make daily excuses for her screw ups.
I'd rather see more attrition of even careerists who are essentially all political (like yourself).
I would imagine Tillerson feels the same.
