TRADE WAR Mexico plans immediate action on US imports after WTO tuna ruling

The Mexican economy ministry said on Tuesday it would immediately initiate the process of taking retaliatory steps against U.S. imports following a ruling by the World Trade Organization in Mexico's favor in a dispute over tuna.

"Mexico will immediately seek authorization ... to suspend benefits, and in parallel, will initiate the internal procedures necessary to make said suspension effective against imports of products from the USA," the ministry said in a statement.

Mexico had complained to the WTO about U.S. tuna labeling rules that it said unfairly penalized its fishing industry, and had asked for retaliatory sanctions of $472.3 million, which it planned to impose on imports of U.S. high-fructose corn syrup.

Ruling on the tuna dispute, a WTO arbitrator said earlier on Tuesday that Mexico can impose annual trade sanctions worth $163.23 million against the United States.

Ohooooo......Mexico, the nation that can't even sustain its own people...is threatening the US? What are they going to do, stop the import/export of US TAX DOLLARS by reducing the number of Illegals crossing over to funnel money into their nation? There is a history between the two.....something about someone taking the entire US southwest region and MANIFEST DESTINY.

In short: Who the hell is afraid of Mexico....every little communist want'a'be nation in both the northern and southern hemisphere literally walks all over them?

I really can't comprehend the reason as to why the US simply does not annex Mexico and make it one of its territories....they've been supporting them ever since Sam Houston kicked their asses out of Texas.

BS.....I think Mexicans are fine people....everyone should own at least one or two. We're already paying to support them might as well be able to claim them on tax day. If the US would annex that 3rd world nation it would be a boom to the world economy if there was any real management of the great natural resources found in that nation. That way...all 3 major car manufactures could move and have that move justified plus we could tell those mid eastern nations to take their oil and go to hell. Just look what the US accomplished in Hawaii...it took a pagan society and created a major capitalistic society out of it....that knows how to bilk the last dime out of any tourist. :)
