Ivanka Trump trumpeting her dad’s “advocacy” for families at a women’s empowerment forum Tuesday got a chilly reception from a Berlin crowd.
Trump’s remarks at the G20 women’s summit in Germany alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel and International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde drew boos and groans from the audience — driving her to defend the formerly lewd-talking President’s record on women.
“Sadly the United States is one of the only countries in the world, the only developed country in the world, that doesn’t have a paid leave policy for the benefit of families ... I’m very, very proud of my father’s advocacy,” the First Daughter said.
“Long before he came to the presidency, during the campaign including in the primaries, he’s been a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive,” she added.

Addressing audible groans from the crowd, the moderator asked Trump whether “some attitudes toward women your father has publicly displayed” in the past “might leave one questioning whether he's such an empower-er for women.”
“I’ve certainly heard the criticism from the media,”
“But I know from personal experience, and I think the thousands of women who have worked with and for my father for decades ... are a testament to his belief and solid conviction in the potential of women and their ability to do the job as well as any man.”
She further noted that "six out of eight" members of the administration's hiring team were women.
The 45th President has repeatedly been criticized for crude remarks about women both before and after his 2016 presidential run — most infamously in a 12-year-old “Access Hollywood” tape in which he bragged his celebrity gave him carte blanche to grope women.
Several women have also come forward accusing him of sexual assault, allegations the commander-in-chief denies.
