"mother of all bombs" dropped on Taliban tunnel complex -Afghanistan

because the public doesnt view it like that. You have to save the lives in a nice way.

Look at the nukes. It saved hundreds of thousands of lives and people condemn truman for it to this day.

Bee ess. It's all speculation, given that the Japanese were on the verge of surrender right before Truman dropped the bombs.

Except that saving American lives automatically makes it a preferable decision. If you're standard is building the master race, then the genocide of the 99% starts to become acceptable (to you).

What's the ratio? What's the number? How many Japanese civilian men women and children in their own country eating breakfast and deluded by an idiot king that we are evil who didn't lift a finger against us is equal to a single US soldier who signed up voluntarily to go to Japan and kill them until they surrendered? 100,000 to one? Robert McNamara more than admitted that it was debatable. He said it was a war crime.

Bullshit; because this has been gone over before and the Japanese military were training civilians to die during kamikaze like charges, armed only with kitchen utensils and sharpened bamboo, if American troops landed on Japanese soil.

Not the point. The future life saving potential of dropping thermonuclear weapons on civilians and killing scores of thousands instantly is debatable. :palm: Do I even have to point that out?

And, what of the American lives saved in the Japanese POW camps?

As one of our two worst Secretaries of Defense (alongside Rumsfeld) of all-time, McNamara has zero credibility. Particularly on matters of war crimes. I would say that in the defense of a single American life, there is no limit. 1 US Life = ∞ Foreign Lives

Then I would suggest that the rulers of said countries worry more about the people in their countries and less about starting wars; but if they decide to go to war, they probably shouldn't use their civilian populations as shields.

You are right and you are wrong at the same time.

I've seen your post advocating for more war against ISIS, your post above makes no sense in light of those.

What exactly is your point?
